I just started rock climbing this weekend. Took a refresher ropes class and will start going with a friend. I remember you saying you moved to CO, where do you climb?

I immediately realized that the way I've been training is the opposite of what I should have been doing for rock climbing...

PM'd you

If you want to get a bit more depth to your traps and you only do shrugs, try standing vertical shoulder presses with dumbbells bent over about 20 degrees angle at the waist, straight back. Wow, talk about squeezing the trap muscle like a sponge

Sugar comes in first, when it comes to fattening. And second, and third.... Avacados are high calorie, but not fattening as is food with an insulinogenic effect

This thread is too cooperative lately. I'll channel my inner Rosettastoned. "Everyone here is a pussy and fucking Special person".

why is it that everyone in this thread is a fucking pussy?

damn, hard to the core bro.

I think I'm pretty badass too. I just got to the point where I can press the pastel green dumbells on a bosu ball

Ah, no can do on the PB. The slightest taste of peanuts or peanut butter makes me wretch.

I eat enough meat really where I probably don't need a huge amount of supplementation. I think I'm going to give the choc milk a shot for a while an see how it works out. It is delicious after all.

They say when working out hard you should have a gram of protein per lb of body weight. I hope you are not eating your body weight of meat protein lol

Comeback trail: Ran 3 miles yesterday with 4 hill sprints and 2 sprints across a 6 lane highway and median, my chest has been sore for about a week but should be ready to go tomorrow or the next day with triceps and shoulders.

Working out biceps, back, and traps while watching NBA and cooking a whole chicken at 450' in the oven. danger

If I do the trap raises listed above, bent over trap raise? am I going to be reporting from surgery?

Question:

How does everyone stay motivated over time?. This has become a problem for me, no matter how much I change the routine I am still bored.

motivation comes and goes. You need a reason, something to work toward. A race, a girlfriend or wife you want to surprise with a new body, a girl you like,

I used to think about my high school bully and that worked for about 5 years. Nobody ticks you off?

I keep myself rolling because i love looking good,

I listen to lots of music, too; otherwise i cant work out. Mostly Beach Boys, Junior Kimbrough, Bruce and lots of slow romantic stuff.

To this day, when I work out I usually listen to ballads. -Henry Rollins.

I try to tap into a moment of my life in which I picture something of romantic notions where I can lose myself in the music. I'm with Rollins, some of my best workouts where when I was listening to slow romantic stuff. The Beach Boys 'Don't worry baby' is where I crushed it on 350 lbs deadlifts at 170 lbs lol.

This seems extremely dangerous to me. Either I am not that flexible, or my rotator cuffs aren't happy,

which is likely with the 3rd-4th degree AC seprations on both sides.

Try it with super light weight. 15pound dbs or so.

I tried the suggested side/lateral raises using light dumbbells, seemed much too easy doing singles...so tried both.

Those worked 4/traps.

Lats are tough to isolate, I have the benefit of a double pulley cable system. This allows me to use 2 independent handles placed slightly overhead, then I basically can do the breast stroke. A single cable and short bar is good as well. With arms extended bring bar from eye level down to waist, much easier on the rotators than pullovers.

No, I would never consume 230lbs of protein a day. That's far too much. Around 140-160 is fine for me. I'm not trying to gain mass, just stay toned and strong.
