Let the skirting of the many CF bad form exercises and movements begin...... and then try to justify it with one team doing a few of their proper exercises merely as a small supplement

Anyone think it might be possible to find some videos on YouTube of people in a regular gym doing exercises using shitty form? Or is that just isolated to a small portion of the fitness industry that's wildly popular?

You stated "serious athletes will not do CrossFit." I gave you a track and field champion, MMA champion, and entire fucking NFL team... and there are countless others. You and Bundy should give it a shot; you might see some actual gains.

You honestly don't see how desperate and ridiculous your statement sounds? You found one track star, an MMA fighter, and one team...that do some principles of CF? I'm sure that the MMA fighter doesn't grapple most all the time, football players don't practice and hit the weights most all the time, and the track and field star doesn't do field events and sprint mostly? Lol seriously...

Most serious athletes do not do CF..and rightfully so. They practice and lift for results and obviously they get them. Pretty sad argument right there. I'll stick to pullups to strengthen my back and you can rock the air humping pullups because obviously you don't know the first thing about strenghlth gains. Keep up the CF and say hi to the ladies

Lol some people are so stuck in denial that there is absolutely no reasoning with them. The Marlins also use Crossfit, but...serious athletes, nope.

Some people are soo blinded and a bit biased it is an exercise of futility. Go ahead and keep living in a fantasy world where most all olympians and sports stars do CF and their principles with poor form and then get back to me when you wake up. We all know the answer that such a small percentage of serious athletes do CF, it is not even worth discussing. Keep your argument going and those CF classes rocking and tell us when you get some serious gains.

Let's talk abs and core, the most troublesome area for most men. I see a LOT of guys at my gym going nowhere, mainly due to their high consumption of tortillas and the like. That aside, this looks easy but is not. The vid is also incorrect, head should be up and toes used rather than entire foot. The difficulty can be further increased by drawing the stability ball underneath the torso. The ball forces all of your transverse muscles to balance while your own body weight provides resistance.

Ok Al...sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me

What kind of training program do you do anyhow?

Also, completely neglected to state your definition of "serious athlete."

Judging by your skirting of a few statements, I would be willing to put all the smart money that you don't really know much about athletics nor did you participate in many besides CF and some cardio here and there.

I do a variety of training programs. Lots of sprints, running, lifting and some core programs fyi. I am dying to see what kind of training you do....if any and would love to know where your strength is at. I thought the word athlete is pretty self-explanatory as is the serious adj. Professional athletes doing professional training programs...you know, what most every sports athlete does. Keep up the CF classes Richard Simmons and get back to us.

I do CrossFit Football and Crossfit Endurance and my work usually involves hiking around with an 80 lb pack so...

I have my job because the 2% of society that is even fit enough to do it usually isnt smart enough to do it.

I posted the benchmarks I try to stay above previously in this thread. You have also "skirted" around your athletic background...I imagine something about touchdowns at Polk HS.

Dear workoutblog,

During the school year I'm forced to get up early every day. I have to drop off my stepson at school at 7:15am and I pretty much have to drive right by LA Fitness on the way. Basically, there is zero excuse for going to the gym in the morning...the only thing I have to do is throw clothes for work into a gym bag.

This summer has been rough. Too much sleeping in, maybe getting to the gym 1-2 times a week (which I suppose is better than totally falling out of my routine). This week I had a goal to make it every day and I managed to resist the snooze button and get in there every morning. Achievement unlocked! Monday, school starts so back on it 100%.

It's amazing how much better I've felt all week back in the normal swing of things. Every time I have a layoff and go back it's always like "why the **** did I stop doing this?". Also, this is the first time I've hit it really hard since quitting smoking back in June. Noticeable difference in endurance etc.

Anyways, sorry to interrupt. Back to Crossfit arguments bros....

It's way easier if you buy your own stuff; then you can train whenever you want. 300# of bumper plates with a decent bar can be had for around $600. Make a pull-up bar and start compiling stuff off Craigslist and you are gtg.

I've thought about doing that. I probably wouldn't use it all the time, but would be nice to have in those situations where I can't really make it to the gym. Truth be told, I like going there. I enjoy the environment and I make use of most of the facilities (e.g. play racquetball, swim some laps, sit in the sauna etc) and it takes me less than 10 mins to get there from my house. The real issue is I got lazy and decided I'd rather sleep for another 1-2 hrs instead of getting shit done. If I don't go in the morning though, it pretty much isn't going to happen. I'm tired by the end of the work day and just want relax a little. Plus, that place is a zoo in the evenings.

You guys even need help making fun of CrossFit. If you are gonna do it, it should be actual crossfitters trying to actually do exercises. This is one of my faves. The guy with the 25s deadlift, if you are unaware, is Dave Castro (CrossFit Director of Training):
