We all know 2-3 years from everyone on the board will either be claiming they always knew he was going to be great and were lifelongs from day 1... or that he was a bum from the start and they all tried to warn us but were ignored and shouted down.

Let this thread serve as the official keeper of record of meatballdom.

For me I am a yay.

I'm not arrogant enough to act like I know really anything about him. I'll say yay and defend him until I'm proven wrong

Did he trade Cutler yet? Get back to me when he does.

Seriously, don't you want to wait for him to actually do something before you crown his ass?

Missing a third and only correct option: It is FAR too early to tell.

Ummmm... did you not see his press conference today?

Consider his ass crowned.

Yay, but we better see a lot of Packer L's in the near future. 50% isn't really good enough.

He definitely looks a bit gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Jury is out until some internet stalker finds a picture of his wife.

Yay, until I decide to nay. I reserve the right to nay.

This. There is NO WAY to make any kind of yay or nay ONE DAY into this hiring....

ND is horrible.
Way too early to tell, but I am pleased we got someone from outside the Lake Forest cocoon and he is young enough to be someone who might embrace progressive ideas/metrics.

As far as 2 yrs from now, I fully expect the Bears to be coming off a 6-8 win yr and breaking in a new QB, so I am not sure what some notions of success are among the more optimistic posters are.

I don't think some people are prepared for the turnover that is going to happen on this old, tired roster and the fact that we CANNOT win right away.

I thought he did a nice job with his press conference - for the record.

Like

- Seems to have an open mind and will be relying on people who have had success previously (Ernie)
- Good energy and tells you what he can
- Transparent on what he's accountable for

Dislike

- Experience is all with one team (NO), who have a poor track record at drafting
- Young and despite seeing how the Saints were run he has limited experience with decisions at this level

I'm still a bit of a Nay. From a personality point he's really likable and resonates well. At the end of the day he's in the business of results. I don't know how involved he was with the Saints, but if that's the experience he's largely leaning on they have drafted poorly and are in cap hell. Without the Saints history there's really nothing to evaluate the hire on, so I'm only going by what I have.

Peggers, WTF is up with Philly? How does any quality guy take the job of sort of asst. GM to Chip Kelly? Hell, ESPN couldn't even name the job title, "Eagles quietly begin search for GM type."

Secratary at Eagles HQ.

They are ready for you. Please hand your testicles to Mr.Kelly as you enter the room.

Perfect role for our former coach. He would be a good muse for Kelly. He would meekly take his abuse and verbal tirades and allow Kelly an outlet for his aggression and pent up angst.

I guess I am a yay.

Been encouraged about everything I have heard so far, not just in the presser, but the score interview as well.

I'm ready to move on to getting a head coach now.
