Springfield, Mass.-The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:

• Rockford IceHogs right wing Andrew Shaw has been suspended for six (6) games as a consequence of his actions in a game vs. Lake Erie on Nov. 3. Shaw was assessed a game misconduct for leaving the players’ bench for the purpose of starting an altercation.

Shaw will miss Rockford’s games Friday (Nov. 9) at Grand Rapids, Saturday (Nov. 10) vs. Milwaukee, Nov. 14 vs. Peoria, Nov. 16 vs. Houston, Nov. 18 at Houston and Nov. 21 vs. Peoria.

• Rockford IceHogs left wing Wade Brookbank has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of his actions during an altercation in a game vs. Lake Erie on Nov. 3.

Brookbank will miss Rockford’s game Friday (Nov. 9) at Grand Rapids.

• Rockford IceHogs defenseman Dylan Olsen has been suspended for two (2) games as a consequence of an illegal check to the head of an opponent in a game vs. Lake Erie on Nov. 3.

Olsen will miss Rockford’s games Friday (Nov. 9) at Grand Rapids and Saturday (Nov. 10) vs. Milwaukee.

• Portland Pirates right wing Phil Lane has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of a boarding incident in a game vs. St. John’s on Nov. 2.

Lane will miss Portland’s game Friday (Nov. 9) at Worcester.

• Albany Devils defenseman Matthew Corrente has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of receiving an instigator penalty within the final five minutes of the third period in a game at Adirondack on Nov. 3.

Corrente will miss Albany’s game Friday (Nov. 9) at Providence.

Jeremy Morin

scored two goals for Rockford, who beat Peoria 5-4 on Wednesday night. Morin collected Rockford's last two tallies, including the game-winner. He faces tough competition to make an impact on the Chicago Blackhawks roster. On Peoria's end, Jake Allen had a tough evening, allowing five goals.

Brandon Pirri

has six goals and 13 points in 15 games with the AHL Rockford IceHogs. Pirri might have gotten another chance to play with the Chicago Blackhawks if not for the lockout, but instead he's been given an opportunity to focus on developing further in an improved AHL. With the lockout dragging on, a lot more eyes are on the AHL and that should help Pirri make the Chicago Blackhawks when the work stoppage is over if he can maintain this level of play.

Looks like Shawn Lalonde has upped his game this season.

Good to see. Dylan Olsen on the other hand is meh. No idea what the Hawks saw in him.

Brandon Saad

had two assists in the Rockford IceHogs' 4-2 win over the Chicago Wolves. Saad has recorded at least a point in four of his last five contests. He has four goals and four assists in 13 AHL games this season.

Andrew Shaw

is on a four-game goal scoring streak. Shaw now has five goals and nine points in 14 AHL games this season.

Teuvo Teravainen

generated a goal and an assist for Jokerit in a 3-2 win over Tappara on Thursday. The Blackhawks prospect now has 15 points in 19 games this season after getting off to a slow start in Finland's top league. Ottawa's offensive blueliner, Erik Karlsson, picked up an assist in the match to give him 19 points in 22 matches this year.

^^^ Really good to see Saad and Teuvo get it going. Teuvo is definitely a long term project, but from what I have seen...it could turn out to be a very exciting one. The fact that he was a long term project is probably why he fell to the Blackhawks and hopefully it pays off.

As Joe said in his deleted post, Adam Clendenning has been solid. Creates lots of chances on the PP. Lalonde is solid as well just an all around solid defender

Haven't been able to watch much lately. Is Lalonde finally starting to play better position? He always has had raw talent and that might carry him in the AHL but it would burn him in the NHL (and did every time in the pre-season).
