Haven't been able to watch much lately. Is Lalonde finally starting to play better position? He always has had raw talent and that might carry him in the AHL but it would burn him in the NHL (and did every time in the pre-season).

I would say that positioning is Lalondes weakness. He pinches is way to much and leads for other teams to start some good odd man rushes

I'd put that in with positioning, haha. Lump it in with decision making as well. Basically in the AHL he can be a little more aggressive because he has some nice talent. I think he would be best served to tone that down a little because it isn't going to happen in the NHL. When he has appeared for the Hawks in preseason, it usually ended up with him getting burned.

Should be a good game

Two of the Western Conference’s hottest teams faceoff tonight in a Midwest Division showdown at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 7:05 p.m.

The Rockford IceHogs, winners of three straight and seven of nine, take on the Milwaukee Admirals, who have picked up points in five-straight contests (3-0-1-1). The game is the second of 12 on the season between the two clubs, but first of five in December.

One lucky fan tonight will get an opportunity to win a new Toyota during the second intermission’s Toyota Showcase Shootout.

For tickets to tonight’s game, visit IceHogs.com, call (815) 968-5222 or stop by either the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet location.

To watch the game, tune into WIFR’s 23-2 “Weather Now”, Comcast Cable channel-436, Charter Cable channel-970 or Mediacom channel-101. The game can also be viewed online, along with the free audio web stream, through AHLlive.com.

Rockford’s hot stretch has vaulted them into first place in the Midwest Division for the first time this season. The team’s offense has led the way, scoring 4.28 goals per game over their last seven tilts. Team Captain Martin St. Pierre has goals in three-straight games, while Andrew Shaw, Ben Smith, Brett Lebda and Adam Clendening are riding point streaks of four or more games.

The power play has also picked up the pace as the unit is converting on 30.0% of their opportunities over the last eight games, going 12-40. Overall, Rockford’s power play ranks seventh in the AHL at 19.8%.

After a sluggish start against its own division, Rockford has won the last two Midwest Division matchups, but is still just 3-6-0-1 in the division. Eight of Rockford’s next 10 games are against teams from the Midwest Division.

haha I'm guessing he has come to terms with being a career AHL player and decided it was time to add another element to his game.

I will say he has improved. He's much more reliable in being a two way forward now then when he was here with the guys like Brouwer, Buff, Versteeg & Fraser

Hogs played sloppy undisciplined hockey. I've not been impressed with Leddy, Lebda both look to be lost and not showing up to play every night.

Stanton by far. Plays physically and can play both ends. Clendening hasn't been too bad just needs to work on some defensive game. He also tries to make some passes that lead to turnovers

You think Stanton will ever get a chance to play in the NHL?

Hogs Head to Milwaukee

Milwaukee, Wis.-With three games in the next eight days in Milwaukee, the Rockford IceHogs and Milwaukee Admirals are about to get very familiar with one-another.

Tonight the Midwest Division rivals clash at 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The game can be viewed on WIFR’s 23-2 “Weather Now”, Comcast Cable channel-436, Charter Cable channel-970 and Mediacom channel-101. The game is also available online through AHLlive.com, including the audio web stream.

Rockford and Milwaukee have met twice this season, splitting the two contests at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Last Friday, the IceHogs toppled the Ads 5-3, the first of five meetings between the two clubs in December.

After reeling off seven wins in eight games where the team averaged 4.38 goals per contest, Rockford has dropped their last two matchups, scoring just three goals. The two losses dropped Rockford from the top spot in the Midwest Division, but the IceHogs are still just one point behind the Grand Rapids Griffins for first place.

The IceHogs power play continues its hot run, going 16-53 (30.2%) over their past 11 games dating back to Nov. 18. Overall, Rockford’s power play ranks sixth in the AHL at 21.0% and the unit is second in best in the league lead with 25 power-play goals. Ben Smith and Jeremy Morin lead the way for Rockford, scoring five goals on the man advantage.
