The team’s offense has led the way, scoring 4.28 goals per game over their last seven tilts. Team Captain Martin St. Pierre has goals in three-straight games, while Andrew Shaw, Ben Smith, Brett Lebda and Adam Clendening are riding point streaks of four or more games.
The power play has also picked up the pace as the unit is converting on 30.0% of their opportunities over the last eight games, going 12-40. Overall, Rockford’s power play ranks seventh in the AHL at 19.8%.
After a sluggish start against its own division, Rockford has won the last two Midwest Division matchups, but is still just 3-6-0-1 in the division. Eight of Rockford’s next 10 games are against teams from the Midwest Division.
