I could understand if they want Soto to spin him around for a starting pitcher, but I doubt the Cubs could do that. Soto's one of the best catchers in the game.

He would play C for them and they would switch Mauer to 3B. That still does not make sense to me.

Exactly. I don't know. The trade makes no sense for both teams.

I heard that Mauer might not stay at catching too long because they want to preserve his bat. But i don't think they need to do that for a couple of years.
