Hearing whispers on twitter about Sox discussing a trade for Kubel.

Kubel destroyed the Sox..makes alot of sense when we need a left handed hitter to replace AJ.

or upton. i love kubel though

Kubel would be a pretty good addition, he takes walks, gets on base, and hits for power. any idea of who we would give up? I saw Alexei mentioned but I figured he only applied to the potential Upton deal. I could see the Sox including Viciedo and trying to get back some prospects/have Arizona send them some money in the deal

vs the Sox, he has cranked out 22 HR's & 76 RBI's in 81 games played.

kubel wouldnt cost a shit load of specs.

unless i missed something earlier the mlbtr post with ramirez is the first time i really heard anything with the sox and upton.

imo you move viciedo to 3b and insert kubel in the outfield

de aza
kepp
dunn
konerko
kubel
rios
viciedo
ramirez
flowers

i like that lineup a lot.

If what Danny Knobler is reporting is true that the D'Backs came to you guys with a deal built around Alexei Ramirez for Justin Upton and nothing happened than I would be upset too.

What wouldn't you have given up though in a deal apart from Chris Sale that would obviously be off limits?

Exactly, and if Chris Sale was asked for I am sure that would have been out there. If it was Ramirez, Sanchez and some other prospects than I understand the frustration.

Would you have done Ramirez and Kubel 1-for-1.

the OBP and especially power numbers along with OPS are just pretty sick for kubel. you would most likely have to keep beckham though to keep infield defense sane. or sanchez at SS, viciedo to 3b.

Is Bloomquist a good SS? Maybe we could sweeten the deal and have him thrown in?

yeah that's why i didn't like the deal because we would have to rush some prospect into the starting role and that hasn't historically worked out well a la Brain Anderson, Morel, Fields, and now Beckham... kinda

but if they included him and we could get sanchez some AB's I would be all for it

Viciedo is like Carlos Lee except a worse hitter. He was moved to left because he was a butcher at 3B. I don't want to have nightmares of Greg Norton in the late 90's this year.
