45 million wont hurt this club at all considering what other players are going to get. it may be a steal in this day in age of FAs. If we got granderson I would like some other pieces. I want a 2/3 SP who is a righty, and an OBP guy. salty is inconsistent so looking at last year he could easily go the .288 obp mark again. Id prefer AJ as he will be cheap as **** and can help with the pitching.

today on the score they were talking about some incredible buys for FAs. burnett,colon,ellis,johnson,haren etc. id load up on guys like that. it would be a hahn move to get low contract guys and see if they can compete. they were talking moneyball esque moves.
