They hired a moneyball hitting coach

yup. they are going that route imo. not spending like magic johnson, not rebuilding like theo..hahn imo may go with the beane blueprint. its a good formula, just not good enough to win a championship. spend a tad bit more than beane in the approach and keep a decent farm and they will be ok.

I don't want to spend big. Doesn't translate into championships, but moneyball hasn't worked in the postseason for the As either. But I'm good with getting a Saltalamacchia and an outfielder or making some trades and see where this team is.

Orioles catcher Matt Wieters is available but he's a Scott Boras client. Has 2 more years left on his deal but he'll want paid in 2 years.

Ya. I've heard we may trade pitching for a bat so maybe were a fit for Wieters.

WTF does Cano signing have to do with everyone else? He's gona get a mega deal. He's only signing with one of two teams: Yanks or Dodgers.

Um, you see that sometimes when there is a big fish (FA) out there, the market is kinda slow.

I'm old. Older than just about everyone on the board and pretty sure everyone in the White Sox and Cubs forums. I don't recall there being much until the December Meetings anyway so I am not sure why folks are acting surprised the movement is slow.

I know that I just don't get it, it's not like 12 teams are waiting on him. I guess there's players waiting to see where he goes.
