Make sure that coffee is decaf, J.

No matter what team they put together you always, always, always, raise ticket pricing after a championship.

Don't buy them if you don't agree with what has become of the team. In case you forgot, home games will be on tv again next year and you always, always, always have a choice of what you want to spend your money on.

Yeah but I bet they were airing season ticket offers throughout all of the post season like the Flyers were. I bet if half the people had known when purchasing tickets then that they wouldn't be seeing the team that they're buying tickets to see, then they wouldn't have done it. It's almost like they're buying IceHogs tickets.

I'm not trolling, but if you could give me a list of all the players who contributed in the playoffs that are left on the team, that'd be great.

Kane, Toews, Hossa, Sharp, Brouwer, Kopecy, Bolland, Keith, Seabrook, Cambpell, and likely Neimi & niklas hjalmarsson. (RFAs)

That's consists of what for the majority of the whole year were the top 2 lines and top 2 defensive pairing and Goalie down the stretch.

That's not gutting, that's trading off and letting go of expendable players who were key parts but not the core nor irreplaceable.

If he asks for over 3 Mil I'd believe he would loose arbitration... although I'm not exactly sure how it works in the NHL. Slightly aware of how it works in MLB.

Steal -relax man, I never said you were...

There just seems to be a certain demographic that gets their panties in a wad with every player move (and it isn't like the salary cap situation hasn't been known about since before last season). The team won it all ... and I am willing to bet that pretty much no one here had seen that ever happen -so it just strikes me as a little rich that there actually is anything to cry about.

I mean I even saw someone bitching about losing Ben Eager -- Ben Eager for godsakes?! Holy shit that would be like me getting all worked up when Rickie Paterson left the team -so what?! It was a fourth liner for which apparently 10 goals in a season was a career year ... can you say Gretzky? Ok -how about Brent Gretzky then ...

I mean dammit ... this entire offseason is just pissing me off ... not because of what the team is doing - hell they were always going to have to do that.... maybe if they had lost to Philly they would have saved money against the cap (stupid clause that it counts against the cap -but hey I bet the owners pushed for that ...so oh well )... but damn- take a fricking win -and stop shitting the diapers because there is a salary cap -and there were a couple of overpaid contracts...

Anyways ... yeah I am sick of "die hard Hawks fans"... talk is cheap. Be one.

Niemi wants that type of $ then it'll be Huet/Crawf then.

I want Niemi/Crawf but not at that price (Niemi).

I hope the kid doesnt get greedy....we DO NOT want to get into the big money goalie crap all over again. He was the best we had but he isnt a world class goalie by any stretch. We've seen this before....remember Alain Chevrier had a great playoff then went belly-up, even Huet was great in his one playoff for Washington. Niemi is excellent covering the bottom 2 feet of net but suspect up high and the league is sure to know this. Expect him to see plenty of shots top shelf next season. Until he proves he can handle those shots, he wont be worth huge dollars IMOP. Hawks have to either roll the dice and give multiple years or play it safe and sign him short term.

Nevermind, looks like they're going after Turco or Theodore to backup Niemi.

Where did you read that? Those are two turd goaltenders. Dont waste valuable cap space on turds...stay with the kids. Either Crawford or the kid they got from the Blues.

Again, still not worried about the Hawks in 2010-11.

Regarding Niemi, I saw a post at Second City Hockey (a fantastic Hawks fan blog worth reading, by the way) where one guy made this assertion: the last three Stanley Cups have been won by teams with incredible talent on the ice and a goalie in net that was just good enough, not necessarily a stud. Yes, he means Marc-Andre Fleury is just good enough. Same with Osgood, same with Niemi.

So maybe we don't need to have an all-world goalie to win another Cup. Maybe we just need another guy that can be good enough. And maybe that doesn't have to be Niemi, if he wants too much money.

Okay so I'm a fool, apparently Ladd was the only RFA able to ask for arbitration, so I suppose all Neimi could do is get offers from other teams or hold out if they don't give him more money? I suppose the Hawks will keep reasonably him soon enough.

I've always been bigger on Crawford, but of course Neimi can't be denied for some of the big things he did.

Im not worried either Dmelt

If Niemi asks for that much money, the hawks would be better suited to use that money on another goalie in free agency and pair them with crawford
