Nope. You are mistaken. The argument was always this was the year to evaluate him and that has been my argument from before the season started.
You are the only one I've ever seen say that you can't hold a coaches record against them lmao.

When you bring in a new coach he should have complete control in hiring whoever he wants, this is not a Mike Ditka/Buddy Ryan situation. The Bears offense was better today, no question. We still scored only 19 points, I’m happy for Brown but not ready to erect a statue. Coming into this season with what we had we all thought 19 points in a game was going to be a bad week, now we are positive about it. It was a positive step compared to the last 3 weeks but nothing to get too excited over.

Good thing that is not what I said. I said it is silly to judge him by wins and losses when Poles tore down the roster. His record this year certainly can be held against him.

That's because the defense couldn't stop a ham sandwich. Too many long drives by the GB packers. An offense needs a 3 and out by its defense.

Brown needs a little more seasoning. Let him interview for OC job. If he impresses HC, then he can stay.

Honestly this is a really fucking stupid take.

Look I will admit that Thomas Brown called the best game I have ever seen by an offensive mind on the Chicago Bears.

Mind you I'm not saying this was the best performance and offense ever has had, but from a pure coaching standpoint, this is absolutely the best coached I have ever seen this team on offense.

He knew they had a weak line and the play calling reflected that. He had Caleb Williams throwing the ball very quick and if you noticed he wasn't making all of these extra line calls but instead they had him playing fast.

He got a grasp on his personnel throughout the game and started using Roshan Johnson more on up the middle runs and swift on more outside runs.

He got everyone involved on the offense and started using DJ Moore in ways that are effective and comfortable for him.

Yes we didn't stretch the field very much but at the same time we didn't have the offensive line that can hold up to allow for that.

I saw an offensive coordinator effectively learn and use the pieces he had throughout the game and adjust on the fly the entire game.

I get the excitement for that makes people want him to now be a head coach but you would effectively be taking him out of the booth where he just was effective for a game and putting him back on the sidelines.

Not to mention the NFL has a way of adjusting and learning.

Brown had one good game with the Panthers and the rest of them were stinkers. Now granted the Panthers didn't have the talent we do despite our offensive line deficiencies.

But trying to make him a head coach after one really good game?

That's straight meatball bullshit.

Let's see what he does for the rest of the season.

If up against the teeth of the hardest part of the schedule, he can get performances like this out of the offense, then let's talk this offseason about promoting him to head coach.

But for God's sakes let's give it the rest of the season.

That's not to say you retain Eberflus - Poles can always fire him and make Washington The interim head coach, which would allow Thomas Brown to remain up in the booth the rest of the season, thus hopefully not impacting Caleb's development.

They allowed 20 points. That should be enough to win.

Please learn to read.
Let's say Caleb looks good to close out the season and Brown's play calling looks legit.
What does close out the season mean? Do you think it means make him HC after one game?
