Ticket Prices for 2012-13

That's a crock of crap. McDickbag is making up crap that you people buy.

Ask any old timer how hard it was to get a ticket in the 1980's. This BS that 125 consecutive is a record is a load of garbage.

I laugh at that every time I hear it. I wonder if these morons ever saw the lines half way around the building. From I'd say the 3rd year in the UC through 07 with the first year of Kane and Toews attendence was a problem. Before that, yea right. And was seat pricing screwing fans back then, I don't think so.

I mean it's kind of hard to compare ticket prices now to ticket prices from 30 years ago. Reminds me of the whole "I use to buy a pack of gum for a nickel!"

Don't worry Biscuit most of us who've had tickets for a decade or more feel very similar. I think Rocky knows I also don't think all is rosey up there in Blackhawk Heaven.

Then again I know NO ONE!

Well you could compare them to 18 years ago when the building was sold out every night I suppose. Also remember the UC was the largest capacity building in the NHL at the time. They've lost almost 2000 seats where the hawks are concerned.

Again you have a time from of roughly 11 years of mis conduct, but I truely feel Bill had figured it out and did want to see a winner. Most of us watched it unfold personally.

Now they are running off some of their most dedicated and Loyal fans.

Bullshit he would have. You do realize that building, IE the Stadium was sold out with a waiting list for fucking two decades right?

nice try.

There was never a waiting list at Chicago Stadium.

yes, there was.

Well, not for the Bulls until Jordon got there. For most of those games, Artis Gilmour, Reggie Theus days, there werent more than 2k in the building to watch them.

Never has a problem getting a ticket in the eighties.

Hell, even playoff games weren't always a sellout.

The Blackhawks are way more popular now than 25-30 years ago.

I give McDicklick only small smackerel of the credit.

I'm not disagreeing, just saying, even 18 years ago is a long time to make that comparison.

How much was a movie ticket 18 years ago? Sure as hell wasn't $10 for a ticket, and $8 for popcorn. At the same point, the fact that the Hawks have increased ticket prices from $7 to $30 (more than 400% increase) is also unacceptable. And that's just the 300 level, I haven't even looked at price changes in the 200 level or 100 level.

I remember many games going down there with Buddy and having the box office turn us away. I also remember many playoff games where unless you paid out the ass, you were not going. You crack me up, Mr. Historian. LOL!

Your right it's all relative. They are doing what they can get away with. The question is would Bill have done that. Once a Wirtz always a Wirtz I suppose. I know I'd take the former right now over the present. I'd also take the one that was shoved aside as he was probably most responsible for getting the old man to open the purse for Tallon.

I had seasn tickets three different times in the eighties.

Each time, all I had to do was call and find out what was available.

I believe the Hawks had only one ticket rep named Mildred.

Hockey was a hot ticket until Bobby Hull left to go to the WHA.

Then television happened...Well, except on West Madison Street.

I was never turned away for ticket. Ever.

I'm not saying there weren't sellouts.

But it's a misnomer to say the Hawks were always a tough get.

Oilers and North Stars, and maybe the Blues.

We never had season tickets we'd go down, get fucked up and get tickets at the box office. MANY MANY times we'd just end up getting fucked up because there were no tickets.

I'm the same age as you beatoff.

Oilers games were always tuff. I believe if you ask the GM of the UC the first two years of the building were 98% sold out. Not until 97ish did the decline start. JR, Eddie, Cheli... ect ect.

when you were 14 how the hell did you afford season tickets?

I remember going to Bulls games where you could almost sit on the bench there were so few there.

The Chicago Sting indoor games always outdrew the Bulls.

Like I said there were Bulls games you could count the people there. Far less than EVER at the UC to see the Hawks. Chicago Sting were somewhat popular at Wrigley and Soldier Field.
