We will see how it holds up. His size is still an issue.
Many said the same thing when Lamar first came into the league — too slim/runs too much/wont last. And many also said Andrew Luck was built like a tank and would last forever. We know how that turned out.

To me, JD appears slightly thicker than last year. It’s slight but with his frame, he won’t make major gains overnight. The guy is young/likely still growing into his own body, probably on a lifting and nutrition plan, so he should consistently/easily put on about 5 to 10 pounds (or more) a year. He will fill out more/he should be fine.

But yeah, the guy is tough as nails. And he plays the game without fear — the rush does not bother him at all.

Kudos to him

Shows what good coaching/situation gets you

However; the bears or any team at 1.1 last year weren't taking him over caleb....can't stand the "you guys should have taken jayden not caleb"

Whats cryatal clear is that Poles and the dipshit owners decided 3 years ago that fluberbus was a better choice than quinn.....what a joke of a decion that was.

CJ Stroud was amazing last year as well.

Came back down to earth a bit this year.

I'm happy for him, but let's see what happens next year, when defenses are more ready for him.

Pretty obvious Jayden has it. I think he’s a MVP contender next year.

He's way better than Caleb Williams. His accuracy is just flat out better.

So I was wrong about how much growth Daniels experienced in his final year at LSU and contributed it more to his receivers Nabers and Thoms Jr. His raw talent has always been there but I thought he didn't mature mentally.

I was wrong and he's a good QB.

I'm still all about Drake Maye and Penix Jr but Daniels is that dude. Can't wait to see how good Maye can be with some help and better coaching.

It's not just that you were wrong, it's the way you went about saying how right you thought you were. It makes you look like such a fucking idiot. It's one thing to say you think this or that but you said it like it was a fact, like you would have bet your life on it.

For me, I can't trust any opinion of yours because of how certain you were. I'm thinking you are not going to lose any sleep over this--my not trusting anything you say--but you should know how moronic you look not because of your opinion but because of how certain you were of it. Anyone that certain of an opinion that wrong is a fool. Just a fucking fool.

But good on you for admitting your foolishness. That's something at least even though it took this long when any moron who knows anything about football could have seen it in the first few weeks.

That goes for all you others who refused to admit what was obvious and right in front of you. Bias is a thing.

Caleb was the consensus number one pick. Whoever had the first pick was drafting him. That’s why the whole “You drafted Caleb over Jayden” doesn’t get to me, definitely not as bad as the “drafting Trubisky over Mahomes/Watson” stuff. If Caleb whiffs and Jayden is a superstar, it is what it is.

Lamar is shorter than him at the same weight. Jayden is considerably frail for qb. He’s proven he can take hits but he’s already gotten hurt

He's in a much better situation in Washington.

I still don't get all of the "league will catch up to him once they have tape".

I mean it's the divisional round and they haven't done so.

People have to admit JD is a good qb and stop trying to rationalize him.

However, there is still no need for all of the "bears made a mistake" talk. They took who they were supposed to.

Hopefully Caleb took note that it’s possible to get the ball out quickly and excel under pressure.

The problem is it was even though I didn't have Jayden Daniels number one Caleb Williams didn't deserve to be number one.

Therein lies the problem was the consensus was terrible in a huge way. I'm still going to root for Caleb and hope for the best but he's not a generational talent at QB and he's not a QB you win because of.

If the Bears don't get this hire right they will suck for another decade.

There's fan boy circle jersey from me. Jayden Daniels is better than Jared Goff. Jared Goff is pedestrian. He's carried by a great scheme an even better offensive line and a ton of talent around him.

The AFC is going to win the Super Bowl yet again and it will probably be the Chiefs yet again. After Buffalo and Baltimore tear each other apart today Playoff Patrick Mahomes will beat the winner of that game and cruise to his third straight Super Bowl.

Jayden Daniels is excelling because there isn't one great QB in the NFC. The closest thing to great may be Matt Stafford.

No the problem here is I know you loved penix and have him number 1, I have at least 1 of these claims bookmarked.

Iirc you were very very low on Daniels.

Now you are deflecting to this other argument or points when the premise of the thread is you were wrong, but you’re not accurately describing how wrong you were

Before the draft I thought Daniels was too slight to hold up in the NFL, especially for a QB who likes to run. But, he has been pretty incredible this year and he deserves Rookie of the Year honors. He has benefited tremendously from a great OC whereas Caleb has had mush for coaching.

Here's to the Bears hiring Ben Johnson who is just as bright of an offensive mind as Kingsbury. I think most of Caleb's talents have yet to be unlocked.

Here's a link to the Washington forum. I'm sure there are threads over the discussing Daniels,I hear they love to suck on baby carrots just for fun. You'll fit right in....

In all honesty, JD should be MVP and the only reason he’s not going to get it is that there’s a RoY honor they can peddle to recognize his achievements this season. Compared to the other MVP finalists, his supporting cast is laughable with McLaurin being the only other player worth a damn in that offense. He doesn’t have the help Josh or Lamar enjoy.

He still is imo.

He already got dinged up. His arm talent is there so really no reason to run him as much as they did at times this year, this isnt a early lamar/fields/hurts situation where the legs were clearly far superior to the arm talent.
