OK...?? Your are really the only one, against spects.

Actually im not, PHI,BOS,NYY,MIL, Ken Rosenthal. So good teams and prolly the most popular baseball writer has my same opinion.

Several of those teams pay out of slot pricing in the draft.

The Brewers just sucked for years and years thats how they built it up.

Brewers have WON more WS in the last 102 years then the Cubs. Mil has been better lately. Made playoffs just 2 or 3 years ago.

You're talking in relation to current prospects.

That relates to the past 10 years approx. Not too much before that.

Sure they have a better pitching staff.. Outside of Fielder and Braun who can hit on that team?

Weeks, Hart, McGhee.....lets go through this lineup...

Weeks 269 29 HR 82 RBI (one of best hitting 2B in game)

Hart 283 31 HR 101 RBI (Very good OF)

McGhee 285 23 HR 103 RBI (another great call by the Cubs)

Then you have Fielder and Braun being superstars...They were 4th in NL in runs last year. THEY WILL HIT

I'll give you Weeks.. He's decent.

Hart and McGehee may not produce up to that level again..

I'll still be putting the Reds and Cards slightly above the Brewers.

The Phillies never trade their farm for any of those players, just really Halladay but they trade 2 spects. Cliff Lee was the big player dealt in that deal.

The Phillies developed most of their star batters through the draft..

So keeping prospects can be a valuable thing if done correctly.

Just for the hell of it, the Cubs did go hard after Gonzo.

So, you would give up Castro for Greinke? Because that's who they would want.

Cubs also have there own guys...Z,Soto,Castro,Colvin,Marmol,Marshall,Wood. PHI then spent money around there guys. So why cant the Cubs?

because we'd have to spend another 300 mill in total contracts for this offseason to barely get up to Reds level.
