Holy ****, this.... had some chick tailgating me on my 5 min drive to the train in her bald tired go-kart.... there was some snow coating the road so I kept it at the speed limit with a safe 3-4 second distance between me and the car ahead of me.... even if I sped up the right lane was backed up and all the cars ahead in my lane were doing the speed limit.... don't matter to miss fucktard, gets right on my ass and tailgates, moves over and tailgates a guy in the other lane for a min.... comes back and tailgates me all the way to my turn, as soon as I move in to the turn lane she steps on it.... she had to of hit 60mph in a 35mph with snow on the ground....
I should be allowed to legally ram her vehicle into a ditch, pull her out of her overturned vehicle by her hair, confiscate her license and then rap her on the nose with a rolled up newspaper while yelling "NO! BAD DRIVER NO!"

someone has rear-ended our car twice in as many months while my wife was on her way to work. really getting sick of it. The last guy's insurance turned out to be bogus but since my wife had to get to work and didn't wait for the police to be on the scene, we're SOL

For future reference...You can go to the "Chicago" police station at any time to make out a report for insurance purposes...Just get the other drivers info for the cops.

they said we can pay our own deductible and then go after the guy for the money via "legal means" but there's nothing they can do to help us

Yeah...You would have to pay the deductible. But if the damages are extensive, Id do it..Then if ya feel like it, go to small claims court to recoup your deductible or just forget about it..If the damages were minor. then I guess it isnt worth the hassle

You need to get a better insurance company. I had Liberty Mutual and they went after other drivers on my behalf to get my deductible back a few times. It usually took a few months but I'd get a check in the mail for the cost of my deductible.
