Pfffft, all you really need is a good set of snow tires. I drove a GT Mustang year round, even during the snow storms that lasted 3 days.
I know what you guys mean... I drove a front wheel drive Grand Am through several nasty snow storms over the 4 years I had it... It is certainly doable if you know wtf you are doing, but you cannot deny AWD is much better in snow. There is no stopping you with AWD, where as in my Grand Am I remember getting stuck or partially stuck and having to rock out of it.
Elgin? Dude you've got some great Mexican restaurants there. El Farro. Hell half of Elgin is Mexican
You also have Delicia Tropical, an awesome Puerto Rican restaurant with great mofongo
For great sushi, you've got swordfish in Batavia. For thai, there's vino Thai in st Charles and Bangkok in Geneva.
For Mexican, you've got three great places all a few blocks away in Geneva - Bien Trucha, Altiro and El Molcajete
For hearty soups and shit you've got Town House Books in st Charles
It's there if you want it!
I really wouldn't know so ill take your word for it.
Agree that awd cars are more likely in ditches since people think awd means snow is not an issue?

I am hoping we get to go home early...well over 14 inches of snow so far downtown. I want to play in it.
One thing ya have to remember about 4WD or AWD vehicles...You can go faster in the snow, but ya cant stop any faster..lol
Probably gonna have to be outside a bit on Monday. Oughta be fun.
You people are insane for voluntarily residing here:
I won't even bother with the forecast this time.
Have fun, I'm outta here to Islamorada.
Have a good time dude. Planning on hitting the keys myself in a few months. Not sure what it's like down there right now, but probably beautiful. In the low 80's here today.
Lol. There is no turning back for me man. It would be soul crushing.
