I actually just switched to State Farm but haven't had to make any claims with them yet. Liberty Mutual was great for me for a long time but their rates just kept going up every year.

They say it's a good idea to shop around every couple of years even if you don't plan on switching. We cut our premium by quite a bit by switching.

Ah yeah. I check the others out now and then but our premium has actually gone down the longer I've stuck with Progressive

With Ole's damage being minor..I can see the insurance company's reluctance to get involved..From what he described,the damages probably dont even exceed his deductible. It's just a hassle to deal with

probably not. hopefully just the bumper but I'm going to have them check the axle because it was damaged the first time (and repaired)

I had a car fire in April - long story.

I've been with State Farm for 26 years. Fire happened on a Sunday. Had two checks in my hand - one for auto and one for the homeowners damage (driveway and landscaping) on Friday. In the case of the auto, I wound up getting considerably more than I had anticipated.

Can't say enough good things on how they handled it and how it turned out.

Depends. SF made a pitch/estimate to be our new condo building (entire bldg) insurer that was a fucking joke and would have actually left us open to be sued for sub-minimum state required coverage if we didn't have an underwriter on our board who knew what we were looking at

I had SF for over 20 years in Chicago...Good company..Then when I moved down here, I naturally went to SF...I quit em after 3 years..It was like they did a 180. I dont know if each state is different or what, but the rates kept going up on my homeowners yet I had no claims. Home insurance doubled in 3 years

When we asked why our rates kept going up even though we never made a claim, they said it was because the cost of repairs have gone up. Materials and labor I guess.

My only complaint with SF so far has been that they kept getting our camping trailers mixed up. We had just bought a new one and sold our old one. Luckily they have an office a few blocks from our house so we could talk to someone face-to-face instead of over the phone.

The other day I got a letter from Springfield asking for proof of insurance on the suburban I just bought. That may be another mark against them as well.

What you describe is a major reason why I left, that and a shitty marriage to add to the gloomy winter months. Packed up and moved to Tampa, and had a blast being single again. Met my 2nd wife there. Florida is beautiful. I miss it terribly. I found much tranquility and peace there. Cold weather is exacerbating my medical condition.
Damn good excuse to move back there tho.

I can assure you, I miss it terribly as well. I do not recall a winter this brutal this early since Todd Bell started for the Bears...in 1985.

Monday Mostly cloudy and cold, with a high near -2.
Monday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around -14.
Tuesday Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near -1.

To those 9 who are voluntary residents and voted such, please volunteer to take down my holiday lighting display...cuz' it's really gonna suck trying to remove lawn decor from the frozen tundra.

Thats why I like it here in NC..Its cold enough to get the 4 seasons, yet warm enough to avoid all that ice and snow ya get in Chi-Town

Lol roads have been covered in snow in the south suburbs for the last 24 hours.... AWD FTW..... if you have AWD and know wtf your doing it aint a big deal, just gotta watch out for the fucktards.... it actually cuts down on traffic :D
