eh, man, I was there '92-2002. Giuliani's fascist ways made it safer than it had been in the 80's but not yet quite the gated community bloomberg did, but you could still get into trouble, and I did, but was luckier than some of my friends.

I missed the REAL good heyday of CB's and the no wave shit that went on but was born too late, if you can believe that, desperado

I meant just being in that city not during a certain era, but during the time of life I am thinking you were at then, 20s?

Tool - saw them twice on the Lateralus tour. Soooo good.

Pledge of Allegiance tour- saw this tour twice within a few weeks. Slipknot, system of a down, rammstein and another band or two. In Peoria it was so crazy. The crowd was lifting the big tile things off of the ice on the floor an exposing huge chunks of ice. Running and sliding on it. People holding the big sections of floor above their heads so others could get on top and be wild, get naked, etc. So crazy.

Pantera - got to see them once before Dime was killed. Great show.

Chimaira - my buddies and I drove from Western IL to see their Christmas show in Cleveland. Great time and wild night.

Killswitch Engage/Unearth/Lamb of God at the Metro - was in school in Champaign at the time. My buddy and I were driving you the show in Chicago and my pos Eldorado breaks down at a rest stop in Kankakee. Some random dude asks us if we need a ride and happens to be heading into Chicago. Guy was a priest named father Charles. Hooked it up with a ride and was pretty excited that we were going to see a band named Lamb of God. Hilarious. We got a ride home from a kid in our dorm that we knew was there.

Ha! Never knew, dude. I'd guess you are in your 40s tho for sure.. Hey man, I dig the good stuff. New wave is pretty cool. My GF is all into the high class lounges and crap(i don't know why shes with me haha. Broke, younger than her and shes always dated the millionare lambo guys off gold coast) but I can drag her occasionaly to some new wave bars in the city and get her to dance.. It's just fun music.

I believe CB's is now a fashion store or something? Lmao.. Is there truth to that?

yeah, maybe a little bit. but what does that have to do with anything?
Because that sucks, even though you're a total smartass on here it's cool to actually have a decent convo right now. How old are you btw? I'm 25.

Ya gotta listen to more upbeat stuff dude. My brother suffered from depression really really bad(before moving to Brazil to live with his wife at 22 yrs old..ugh); and I used to tell him. All that down stuff will keep ya down, gotta listen to something to get the blood pumpin. Like the Hank Williams JR quote: " I'm into happy and I don't like sad. I like women I never had." Keep your head up, summers comin round the corner.
