I find it funny how only a few people are really hating on Boozer and Noah. Boozer has actually had a pretty fine year so far.
for an average big man yes? for a big man with boozer's contract no
declining physical tools and bad defense
not to mention he's averaging the worst PPG and RPG since his rookie year
Also people need to realize their is no offenseive plays designed for him as there was in Utah. All they do is give it to him in the post when already guarded and hes forced to take a jumper which has been pretty good this year. There are no pick and rolls, and very few pick and pops.
or he could use his feet and make a post move or two....doesnt help that he can barely get off the ground
he does have a good rainbow shot though
Boozer in Utah was involved so much. But all you should want is a double double from him and he will be doing that for most of the year. Sitting him out for the 4th quarter will also kill his stats so i dont get the people who try and say his stats are shit when they really aren't.
sure boozer will be getting double doubles...but its not necessarily his offensive production thats the issue...its
A.his defense...still bad
B.he's aging..meaning his production will continue to decline
C.he's injury prone..which aggravates the issues of A and B
D.his contract
you have to realize that boozer also greatly benefited from having deron williams passing to him...who is probably the 2nd best passing PG in the league(imo) behind nash...
sitting boozer in the 4th quarter doesnt make boozer worse than he is..in fact he's only averaging 2 less minutes per game than last year...not really an excuse...
i agree with uman's original post..boozer sitting out in the 4th repeatedly speaks volume about his game and how the coach's see boozer along with how they see taj...
Noah has been more disappointing to me more than Booz.
yep..his stat line is pretty horrible
Noah has done a bit better lately, and I just wonder if Noah is hurting Boozer.
the good thing is he plays good interior D which is really what his value is..but he is grossly overpayed as well
noah and boozer hurt each other a bit...they take away from each other's rebounding and they clog the lane...plus boozer's slow rotation on defense makes noah have to compensate more
Boozer isn't a 20 and 10 guy very few PF's are hes more of a 18 and 10 guy which to me is fantastic (Taj wouldn't avg that btw).
boozer can get 18 and 10 periodically but i dont think he's a 20/10 or 18/10 guy anymore...according to his PER36 he may be...but thats inflated and you have to think about context..
why is boozer getting less minutes?
taj plays better defense, more athletic, and younger...i dont think the bulls would put him as a starter though if they trade boozer..they'd likely try to get a younger starting PF..and gibson could come in as relief....whether or not boozer's offensive production is better than taj's is not the point of trading boozer though
Noah has looked better though and is giving more effort which is good. Him and Boozer finished out the 4th just recently and did fine. And Lucas running the point is atrocious to watch.
he's giving more effort..idk if he's looked necessarily better though..good game against boston...4 points against toronto and then two against memphis
ya the bulls are 12-3....but one of the main reasons for that is the dude who wears #1...the team didnt look so hot against memphis..is that because of the backups for rose? partly..or maybe its the fact that some of the pieces around rose are maybe not so complementary and rose really makes these dysfunctional pieces work together as well as leading the team to wins
that last line was a tad harsh..but you get my point
