They may stay internal. They still have Soler, La Stella and Cahill as depth. Cahill has been starting so he could end up the 6th starter. Soler comes back up you would expect that he ends up as the every day LF which puts Cog out of a job.

Things will work out.

Random thoughts on Hill/Reddick. A's have to get something better than a 30ish pick in next years draft for both or else what's the point? They can just QO both.

Another random thought, wonder if the cubs FO still likes Buchholz. Seems like he could use a change of scenery. His numbers aren't great and all but he's not lost velocity so it's probably more mechanical than anything. He's got one year left($13.5 mil with a 500k buyout). Might be an interesting guy to buy low on and retool maybe for an offseason deal.

There's talk that they may try to sign Hill now and try to retain Reddick in FA. Doesn't make much sense but I stopped trying to make sense out of Billy Beane and company years ago.

Sorta makes you wonder if the Mets aren't pissing away their window with their unwillingness to deal pitching for hitting. This has been what, 3 years now that they've been decent but needed hitting? And of course now their arms are running into injuries.

Fucking hell.... 4 hours to the deadline and like nothing appears to be happening. Come on man..... I'm fiending for some juicy trade rumors..... we only get this like two times a year and I can't wait til december!

Seems like a pretty decent get for the Reds.

I actually think that the light bulb might turn on for Puig at some point but there are no guarantees. However if it's straight up for Shields as some are reporting they should probably make that happen.

Don't want any legit playoff team getting better with him, especially a team in NL and more especially the Dodgers who are already filthy in SP..
