Trade Deadline: What Moves Would You Like?

If thats the case, then were looking at really contending for the cup next year, cause Im sorry with this roster its a very slim chance

I disagree. No different than last years and had they been healthy we'd have been through the first round.

One player at the TDL is not going to make or break their chances. Sorry it NEVER works that way. So if one move is going to move us from contending to not I think you are nuts.

The year the Flames won the Cup they lost 12 straight. Are you going to tell me their roster wasn't going to win a Cup, because they did. The team that's played the last two games, that exact roster, has just as much of a chance to do it than any other team. moves or no moves.

is easy to say they won't with EVERY TEAM. The odds are on your side. Playing as a team, like they can, I STILL have a hard time, if healthy, seeing any team take them in 7 games.

RK, you saw us go through that 9 game losing streak, that was no fluke, this team has holes that need to be filled. I am not saying it can not be done, but its a slim chance

Again I gave you another example of a team going through a 12 game streak and winning the Cup. While there maybe be holes, I'm confident they have the experience to figure it out.

That said the Wings lost 7 straight. Bruins, who had very little change started off terrible, Blues, before the coaching change were abismal. There are more than enough examples of good teams going through parts of the season with issues. What will you say if by the end of the season in March/April this team is rolling on all cylanders? Again it's easy to say they have no chance, the odds are with you for EVERY SINGLE TEAM.

And I've watched each and every Hawk team GAME BY GAME the past 14 years. Missing only a handful, in there. This team has just as much chance, with the holes, to win, as the other top 10 teams in the NHL. IMO.

And the 9 game losing streak, I do think was a fluke. Many of these players are not used to losing like that. Especially the younger ones. Guys like Seabrook, Keith, Sharp, Hossa, they know how it works. While guys like Toews, Kane have never really faced that type of advirsity.

It would really surprise me if they didn't rally around. Hey I suppose it could happen and they don't, but then again it can happen to ANY team. Even the best ones.

Every team thinks they have holes to fill. The winner of the Cup is the team that pulls it all together at the end, whether they have holes, injuries or not. Stars align and somebody wins. Grimson thinks it's the Rangers year.......

The first round will take care of that. They choke worse than most teams do in the first round.... Ottawa, I'm looking at you.

Flames didn't win the Cup, but made it to the Finals that year. Just thought I'd point that out.

Let's get Ryan Miller. He got yanked last night against the Flyers. The one goal I saw him give up he completely lost the net. 8 million dollars is a ridiculous cap hit for a goalie. And then they want Kane or Sharp back? No way. I agree with RK let's see what happens now.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Honestly, if the team came in and played like it did against the rangers and the latest against Nashville every night, I couldn't NOT see them making a deep run.

The thing is...getting that to show up. The frosted side of me thinks we can...especially if everyone involved took the skid as being completely embarassed--like if they were caught in a sex shop buying a pocket ass.

They won the Cup, lost on a horrible call. Wasnt that Tampas Cup?

Maybe it was they lost 12 in a row and made it to the finals. Close enough.

That was in '04, Tampa won. Still a good point. Either way I think they make one more move.

I agree they are looking at a move but the asking price for those so far has been to high. And to this day I will die saying that puck was accross the line! Calgary was clearly robbed.

And as of today there is a sigh of relief in that locker room. Tomorrow will tell a lot IMO.

08-09 Penguins had a 5gm losing streak in Jan (that included a 2-8 stretch or 6-14 in Dec/Jan). Outscored 40-22 in that 2-8 stretch. Their record on 2/27 that year was 31-26-6 (68pts) - which is under .500, according to OTL's per TON.

Oh, they won the cup.

07-08 Red Wings...ended Feb that year with a 1-8-2 record. The OT losses were TOR and EDM. Not powerhouse teams.

Won the cup that year.

Fixed it for you (and I like the Caps!!!)

Them too, lol....

Forgive me, but Ottawa's choking has been more noticed over the years... and Washington, well... I blame Ovechkin for all that bs going on there.

'11 Cup Winner Bruins lost 7 out of 10 and 6 out of 10 twice last season

'09 Cup Winner Penguins lost 8 of 10 (5 in a row), 7 of 10

'08 Cup Winner RedWings lost 6 in a row as part of losing 10 of 11

'07 Cup Winner Ducks lost 7 of 10, 8 of 10, Won 9 of 23 games during JAN\FEB

'05 Cup Winner Lightening went 1-7-2 (ties)

Adversity happens in the regular season to even the Cup winners.

Far from over, no doubt. Every team goes through adversity, as long as everything comes together at the end of the season and rolling into the playoffs, anything can happen.

Oilers finished 8th and only lost to Carolina because their goal tender was injured. Would have been the first 8 seed to win the Cup I believe. ANYTHING can happen to ANY team!
