it absolutely is a win now mode, i already said it was. you cant win #2 without getting #1. i think the real issue is everyone on here thinks dougie is going to be some star or something.

I'm not sure why anyone would think the #1 College scorer would have an impact? :dunno:

OK, now it's your turn to explain your answer. Why wouldn't Allen be able to give JB some rest?

not a problem...its very simple...ray allen cant guard the guys butler guards. when jimmy goes to the bench, who guards the other teams best perimeter player? if your answer is still ray allen then this convo is over

at least having the trio of rose, butler, and green on the court together gives you those options of how you want to line em up.
You can actually do the exact same thing with Mirotic. He has good enough instincts to do that.

and we will see come playoff time just how much help rose truly has.
Gasol is a proven commodity there and I 100% believe Jimmy will help in the playoffs. Gasol alone I think will make a world of difference even though he's not on the perimeter.

im concerned with butlers minutes(again a reason to get green) over the course of 82 games and what he has left come playoff time. same could be said for Pau and the workload he has been taking at his age.
Your issue is then with Thibs and not the players on the team. Jimmy's playing 40 minutes whether you like it or not. Gasol I hope will start to get rested more as Mirotic proves himself and Noah gets healthier. But again, that's more on Thibs than who we have on the team as there is no guarantee that the presence of Green would impact Jimmy's minutes.

yes, since leading college in scoring always translates to being a good NBA player

It's called being a bench player. Why would you think that JB could take a rest, but the opposing teams best player doesn't?

Is the best perimeter player playing all the time? If that player is a SG you can put Hinrich or maybe Snell on him for a few minutes if you had to and just live with the results. If that player is an SF, then it's likely that Thibs just lines up Jimmy's minutes with his. Or again, you can put Hinrich or Snell on him for a couple minutes and just deal with it. This can happen with Allen on the floor.

and so you guys are all for bringing in ray allen but don't worry about team chemistry by adding him to the mix or the fact that he has been on his couch so far this year???? but when i mention adding Gerald green who has been playing this year, and at a high level, you guys suddenly are worried about chemistry?? wow okay

and again we disagree on greens value. i think he does push the bulls over the top and he certainly would be on the court during crucial playoff moments. like i posted earlier, maybe the suns take a snell/moore/draft pick combination for green so everyone can keep their beloved dougie mcbuckets. personally, im not that high on dougie so it wouldn't bother me to trade him now while he still has value to get a piece that could very well put the bulls over the top. and you disagree with this notion and that's fine, no need to keep discussing it then is there???

I just don't understand what on Earth Gerald Green has ever done in his NBA career other than blow a fucking candle out on a cupcake in the dunk contest that warrants him being a difference maker on a title contending team? He's played 131 total minutes in the playoffs. If I'm trading McDermott, then it's certainly going to be for a veteran presence who will come in and give us exactly what you feel like Green will give this team.

Two entirely different people said those things. Can't lump the two ideas together.

Ray Allen was a key contributor to a title contending team and is one of the five greatest shooters in the history of basketball. Gerald Green blows candles out on cupcakes in the dunk contest.

So a comparison of Korver is crazy? :dunno:

yes, it is a bit crazy. korver is a guy who has led the NBA in 3 point shooting multiple years. i don't think dougie will hit that level...again we just differ on opinion on mcdermott

Rami blows out birthday candles when he plays 5th graders on 9' rims. I think we finally found a challenger.

And the Bulls have no other perimeter defenders? You know, the one's that are on the court when the bench is playing?

It's cool, I'm just stopping you before you argue a point that doesn't exist.

what would i do without you

again, you guys value McDermott more than i do and value green less than i do. that's fine, end of story
