A few bloggers have pointed to this quote as evidence of Marmol not listening to the coaching staff. It is probably making too much out of quote, but it is disconcerting to hear these whispers.

Yeah, I think that's where I surmised that he was shaking off the catcher and trying to do his own thing.

That could be as well. Again I don't make too much out of it, but it was just something that seems to be popping up in the discussion about Marmol now. Either way the only thing that really matters is if he can get the consistently out of this world movement he used to be able to get on his slider. Until that happens he is going to be a very poor pitcher.

Something to throw out there. Lets say teams are going hard after Garza do you make that team take Marmol?

  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Who is/was worse. Z or Marmol?
Zambrano.

He wasn't as dominant as Marmol was and is more of a headcase than Marmol is.

I don't think this team was going anywhere worth noting.

Throwing balls, slamming coolers, fighting with captains, fighting with Barrett, those things affect a team as well.

Dawson exploded with a bat littering. I think it's not so black and white

Judging by what little I know of Dawson, that was an isolated incident, no?

Zambrano proved time and time again that he was a headcase. And headcases aren't good to have on a team.

No, that makes Garzas stock go from sky high to meh at best, I'd rather get a great package for Garza and give Marmol away then get a meh return for both.

I agree. I actually hope they just keep Garza though. Hard to find top of rotation starters. He is one

The Cubs under Ricketts have shown they will pay to get a better return. So I doubt they make teams pay for Marmol and take less in prospects in return.

Not trying to be dick here but they paid for 2 guys to be gone and did they really get anything good in return? Got a SP with 4.50 + career ERA that looks awfull. They they got a RP that BOS DFA'd they could have gotten on waivers if they wanted. Basically they paid to get those guys out of town
