I think 2 things there.... 1 they said they were going in with what they had because a tactical team would have taken like an hour or something to get there so I would assume they took the majority of the firepower they had available.... and 2 the scumbags were trying to leave.... and they were spraying bullets into the public so the Cops had to make the effort to stop them both to try to protect the public but also to not lose their suspect.

I just found it incredibly ridiculous how many blatant headshots they showed while portraying the gangbanger's style as that of idiots using spray and pray with Uzis.... I mean I get it can happen but it seems obvious they were making it very clear that the only Cops left fighting at the end were our 3 main characters.

I also don't get how none of the Cops had an assault rifle.... every fucking PD in the country has some military surplus stuff lol.

Yeah I had some of those thoughts too. I figure at least the uniformed cops (not detectives) would be in gear and have assault rifles. Just kinda seemed like some lazy oversight into researching what a police raid looks like in modern times there.

I also laughed at how only the 3 main characters are the ones left alive at the end. I thought "lol, how typical".

They did mention that the "swat team (they called it something else) wouldn't be ready till later that day and they wanted to go and capture whoever they were looking for might leave.

You'd hope so but I don't think that they anticipated the kind of shit that was going down against the,. As a general opinion, I believe that cops in this country are very under-armed and the cartels and others have out-gunned them. It amazes me that liberals have made sure that police agencies won't use military tactical weapons because of "fear that the community will be fearful of the cops. Personally, I think that people do need to have good respect for the job of a cop in protecting them and a little fear of fucking with them is perfectly okay.

I'm pretty lost. Maybe I need to watch them again too. All I know is the guy showed up dead. I've always been terrible at following television and movie plots. Way too bad ADD not to miss a bunch of important stuff.

The one criticism that I have is the the season itself is too short to develop complete characters. Take Kitch's character for example. What are his demons? What happened with him overseas? The last episode didn't mention why the crooked cop quit. Was it the gunfight or that investigators were looking into his background? Maybe I missed it but there a gaping holes in this entire story.

8 episodes is plenty of time to develop characters.
You can develop a character in a 15 minute short better than what the writers are attempting to accomplish in season 2.
Part of me wants to stop watching this train wreck now, the other part wants to see the "payoff."

I feel like they just tried to mimic last year's plot point where Matt and Woody wind up splitting as partners but Matt keeps on the case while Woody tries to forget about it.

All 3 of them went their separate ways after the shootout but Rachel kept hunting while Colin Farrel tried to forget about it and Taylor Kitsch became a nerd-cop.

I still don't have a bad guy to hate.

I ended up reading the Wikipedia entries for all the episodes and they piece the story together better, but still I have a lot of "what the **** is going on" during the episodes.

Colin Farrell just found out that the man he killed per Vince Vaughns tip was actually an innocent person and Vaughn did that so Farrell would be in debt to him as an enforcer and snitch. He just finds this out last episode so he's going after Vaughns character.

This is right. When I watched the first scene of the first episode, I said out loud (I have two witnesses) that the Vaughn character was lying to the Farrell character to get a free hit on an enemy and a cop that owes him one. Win, win.

That free hit fucked up Farrell's career, marriage, relationship with his "son", basically fucked up his life. Last episode he found out that he got played, and now he's angry.

I'm enjoying season two, season one was better. But that's not how I decide if I want to watch a show, or I would have stopped watching television after The Sopranos.

Yeah, yet again, I was lost during the episode. Had no idea who the **** VV and his wife went to see about the guy who died and his family. Coworker had to remind me.

I will say the opening seen with Farrell and Vaughn was good as was the who "eyes wide shut" seen. Though seeing TK come in all flying squirrel to put the guy in a sleeper was funny.
