You could say that now. I’m not a big Wentz fan but he was 11-2 before getting hurtthe only ones who got lucky wentz was hurt were the eagles
I have watch Taylor since his days as a Backup QB in Baltimore, and his days in Buffalo seem to be the "chance" that he was able to take advantage of, however we should not forget that while he had some good stats in Buffalo he was benched for Nathan Peterman. He is a good Backup QB, jus like Foles, so I agree with many on here that unless Foles is gone, TT does not make much sense.
I think his opportunity to run the Chargers was also short lived considering they used the 6th overall pick on Herbert. Even if he had not had the lung puncture, he would have been on a short leash

Ok....so lets look at "both sides of the coin"
You might want to add when they inserted Peterman he threw FIVE ints in a half and the Bills promptly went back to Taylor.

From a mental & physical standpoint, Taylor makes more sense. Also keep in mind, foles was replaced by Mitch.
I stated in a later post that if Foles is gone, I would get behind Taylor and a draft pick, but Taylor and Foles, just does not make much sense, because let's be honest, both are placeholders/career backups.
I want the starter or the backup to be the possible future for the Bears, we have gone into too many seasons with a journeyman or Backup as the starting QB.
So why not make more moving parts and bring in a new guy to learn the complex O that Nagy says takes more than a year? WTF?Yeah the Bills really screwed up by throwing Peterman into the game and he promptly tries to break the record of most interceptions in a single game....
So a lotta "moving parts" that have to be resolved.

Foles has an over $10m cap hit if released. Add that to what Taylor would require. Trade Foles and it still an over $5m cap hit.
Right now, you keep Foles and either bring in a top starter or draft one. We don't need another fringe starter and have to pay out the nose for it.
Would Taylor cost that much though? I honestly don't know. But I kind of feel like Pace will want to go into the draft with at least SOME competition for Foles. Otherwise you're just praying the draft falls your way and that's very risky to do with QB's. (this is of course assuming the Bears don't pull off a mirracle trade for Watson or Wilson)
I mean if Pace goes into the season with Foles and strikes out in the draft at QB then he's good as gone. I think he needs at least one cheap vet as a safety net.
He costs a lot more than that. Check the dead money. $10.33MSigning Taylor is just wasting money. You're not saving anything getting rid of Foles, in fact you are losing money by cutting him, even if after June 1. Before June 1 he costs almost $4mil to cut. Taylor might be better than Foles, but he's not that much better, certainly not good enough to make the Bears into a real threat to win any championships. And he's going to cost a few million at least.
He costs about $3.7mil more to cut that he would to keep. $10.3m total to cut.He costs a lot more than that. Check the dead money. $10.33M
