Word around the league is that it's looking more and more like Darnold will be on the chopping block, especially since it's looking like the Jets are going to pick a QB at #2. Here's a take on an article about Darnold

"Darnold was never really given an opportunity to really show if he was worth the overall 3rd pick, he could possibly excel if given a solid offensive line and a adequate WR corps."

Well I guess that takes the Bears out of the equation - moving on.

Trubisky is better than this slug. No Thanks. If Pace did this he should be immediately shown the door.

Edit: Well maybe for a 7th rounder. We need someone on the PS

Darnold????? Don't see it happening. It seems the Jets starting point for him is a 2nd......that's a firm pass for me. Bears would be trading for potential not production. A rookie at #20 would give you the same thing.

to play devil’s advocate, darnold would be cheaper than the 20th pick, and without trading into the top 5 you aren’t getting a top guy so there’s no guarantee he will be any better than darnold would be too.

If he is cheap why not?

Do not let it prevent you from drafting one. But no reason not to investigate both Foles and Darnold next year instead of just Foles.

Again...we should be trying to find a HoF QB and be keeping 4 until we do.

Personally I am in favor of going for 2 pocket passers and 2 modern dual threat guys. Hunt for both and find one or both...but fucking sift dirt until you find a golden nugget. Thats how it works...you put as much dirt through your gold pan as possible. Sure there are better places to look...but int the end you have to sift dirt and lots of it.

I'd have 4 on the roster and 2 on the practice squad. The position is worth 2-3 times reality or other players. So stashing a decent back-up QB is worth like 15 million and thats a nice DE or DT. So collect 4. Trade them like baseball cards. Make them look good and shiny...mint condition and then trade them.

If you want an advantage in the NFL today find 4 QB's at once, trade for 12 draft picks, collect compensatory picks while solving all problems in the draft, and repeat.

Its a hard league so become a seller of hope.

Rather try for Trask in round 2 or just trot out Foles, fuck it

Great. Trask AND Foles AND Darnold AND a 5th rounder....that would be a good start.

Become a QB camp. Hire coaches and college WR's and get them reps. Your telling me an NFL franchise can't figure out how to train QB's?

If we are gonna tank then blow it way the fuck up, and come back with 6 QB's in training...so that when we find one we like the best, we can "surge" the team value and trade out of a league wide QB shortage to desperate teams for hope.

I did that in my fantasy league last year. Drafted 6 qbs, traded 4 , didnt do too bad. Kept Murray and Stafford. Lost in semifinals, Murray had off day. Point is. Hell yes, stock some qbs.

You have 5 picks plus maybe 3 more. If you can get a Trask or Franks or Mond by draft, great. Sign guys as FAs. Fuck spending on other teams failures.
