I fucking love WC2, one of my favorite games of all time. My buddy and I would waste entire weekend in middle school ... maybe high school playing it and fucking up the Kilrathi.

Ymono, I thought it was a great idea, till I did it, and like you said not only does it take up a lot of space, but the game I downloaded ended up sucking and I couldn't trade it back in. The games are more expensive because there is no free market competition, and even the PSN+ discount isn't worth it.

That is a nice thing for PCs easier to pirate games that are questionable. saves lots of money on games that might suck

I have PSN+ so I don't really worry about that, I have full game demos. I would imagine that all the advancements in anti pirating software for PC games has cut down on a lot of the casual game hackers...

It is Special person to say it is a horrible game because of the logon issues and that is what is happening. Fine ***** that the problem exists but to say the game sucks because of it is fucking Special person.

People did the same thing with mass effect 3. Yeah the ending sucks I agree, but really I fucking loved the shit out of the game for the previous 30 hours, so I got my moneys worth.

I wish I would have played that series

WC2 means warcraft 2 to me. I remember I got it summer after my sophomore year of HS. played the ever living shit out of warcraft 2 and starcraft 1. ah highschool, the mid to late 90's the Golden age of PC gaming TIE FIGHTER, Duke Nukem, Starcraft, warcraft, C&C, (and I had WIng Commander also), M1 Tank Platoon, JANES Flight Sims, The fucking 90's were pimp for my kinda games on the PC. Now adays a good RTS is hard to come by after EA tried their best to ruin every company. C&C up to red alert, will always hold a special place in my heart, it got ruined once EA sank their claws in. In the mid to late 90's right when having a home PC was becoming common place, and pretty much any PC you bought could play any game (on the same token, pretty much any home PC cost 2 grand at the time, now you could get a fully capable gaming PC for nearly a quarter of that price).

I know for the WC series they did a quasi-remake of Privateer called "Privateer Gemini Gold" online. I can't recall the website right offhand, but I know it's free. it's not perfect, but it definitly plays well.

Personally, with Dosbox and the like I want to snag a nice flightstick and go through all of the WC games again...i think the only one I'm missing is WC: Arena.

But yeah, I freaking loved that series in HS

I used to love C&C too...

and Gemini Gold never fully launched and has been basically dead for awhile now, they never really finished it. Nothing has been anything officially updated in 2.5 years. But surprisingly there still seems to be some chatter on the forum with additional minor fixes.

Id kill for a good new space combat sim in the spirt of wing commander or the Tie Fighter. Hell Id love an M1-Tank Platoon 3 also, but Microprose is gone.

Have you seen anything for Starhawk? X-Play and AOTS seem like they're creaming their pants over the game.

Also, anyone play Rock of Ages? Downloaded it with PSN+ last night on a lark and wondering if it'll be worth keeping around.

If there needs to be any game remade in modern graphics, it's Descent.

I played the starhawk beta and wasn't blown away, maybe that's because I had never played before and they just threw you in with no instructions on how anything works.

Which one is rock of ages? You should get awesomenauts so we can play together, and why the hell do you play dead island with me.

Not quite what I was going for. I think with how far DirectX and OpenGL has gotten, along with physics engines and of course graphics (Not to mention steroscopic 3D), a Descent game now would be in-freaking sane!

Tomb Raider (even though I'm not a fan) would fall into the same category as games like Blood, Shadow Warrior, and Heretic. They'd be awesome as a remake nowadays (much like Duke Nukem forever), but IMHO Descent was almost too far ahead of it's time and now they could do it right.

I dunno - just sounded like something TSD might be interested in. It looked a little confusing to me.

Rock of Ages is the one where you roll a giant boulder through a maze and destroy shit. I watched the preview for awesomenauts and it told me nothing of what the game is... sooooooooooooo, what is it?

Good call regarding Dead Island... thing is, I nevert have a regular "time" I'm gaming.

Ahhh now I remmeber rock of ages, I downloaded it but haven't played yet

Awesomenauts is a 3 on three simple strategy side shooter type game. Basically you pick a player that has specific abilities and you and 2 teammates battle three other people in trying to destroy this "solar" mine which is basically currency.... so think gold. You have to get through these turrets in order to get to the drill that mines. Funny little game could be better with multiplayer, I don't know if it has audio support. but you can give little commands, and if you don't have 3 players they fill the rest in with computer bots. Very cartoon like with the charecters but very customizable among the different ones to find a type that you like.

Find Time damn it, the game is infuriating to me now that it's harder. Out of no where you can die because it's so hard to see zombies as you are fighting one. and the mechanics of killing them is getting rediculous because you swing with them in front of you but somehow you miss? I think having more people around to watch your back would be really good about now but I don't know how the online works.

I loved the Wing Commander games, but I didn't have my own PC so I had to play on my brother-in-law's machine. He upgraded from a 286 to 386 though (or was it 386 to 486??) and after that it was unplayable, just too fast to react to anything.
