It looks like they've done it very well... it basically pauses and transfers you into the other body... I just don't know what happens to the 2 people you aren't using. Do they just stand there or do they have common tasks they just go and do?

Well so far, except for certain situations, when you aren't in a mission you can switch to any of the 3 at any time. And you join up in the middle of whatever they are doing at that time, it doesn't stay static, which is cool. Sometimes you'll switch to a player who is sleeping and they wake up like they just had a nightmare. Or you might switch to a character while he is being chased by the cops. Or in the middle of a conversation. Or while he is in a strip club, or tying some guy up, or just eating outside, or watching TV, it's never really always the same, it seems to be different almost every time. Like one time I switched to a particularly psychotic character and he was just sitting on the beach in his underwear, with dead bodies around him. No explanation, just that's where you happen to find him at that time.

During a mission with all 3 characters, you switch back and forth in their roles. Like in a heist you might control a guy for a little to do one job, like stealing the money or jewels, and then switch back on the fly to the other guy for his job in the heist driving the getaway car, etc.

I personally HATE switching between protagonists except for very select games. But I always think I am gonna dig the next GTA, and I never do, so at least I save myself the cash for this one.

It is made by Ubisoft, sooner or later they will drive the franchise into the ground like always.

I shall try and my own opinions using AC3

Supra and I have a theory that World of Warcraft and Call of Duty have ruined every game going forward. World of Warcraft ruined this one...

You now have "errand quests" and "farming" built into the title. The crafting is also a horrible addition and mostly useless. I feel this series has lost its focus and have been adding mechanics that are pointless to the story.

It's Ubisoft... like he said, Nothing really needs to be said. I gave up after playing AC1, AC2, Revelation, Brotherhood.... And I think there may have been one more somewhere. I refused to buy 3 because they ran the franchise into the ground and rehashed the same game over and over without really doing anything, didn't AC3 just come out like a year ago... Think AC4 as AC3 as a New Madden or NHL14 coming out.

Well... unfortunately I don't have that option, for me it's about picking and choosing the right times to have a good stretch with it because I have to put it down. I think I'm playing on Normal, but I could see how just upping the difficulty could make it a completely new experience.

HA! I hear ya...

I played it on the difficulty level one up from default (since all games name it different, I cant remember) and it was almost perfect minus a couple fights. Without spoiling anything, it was a new experience for me as I really needed to be aware of what i was doing with my supplies. You arent pulling a Johnny Rambo every fight. I remember fights where I used 2 arrows, 2 .45, a couple shotgun shells, a couple .38, and a stick just to make sure I kept good supplies.

That was really the game mechanics that were just amazing for me: You can store enough stuff that you could fit into a backpack. That is all you get. None of this carrying around 80 shottie shells along with the 200 .45 rounds and 15 molotov cocktails. I had never played a game that handled supplies and crafting in such an immersive way.

To me it was really interesting they way they handled it but I think they almost had too many weapons. And I didn't hate the inventory system but it bothered me at times. I have a serious problem with games in that I have to explore everything as thoroughly as possible in order to not miss anything the first time through. I want to do as much as possible because I don't know if I'll play through it again. We've talk about this. As such, I find myself having no real lack of items on me for the most part. I liked the crafting system in that if you picked up "blades" it wasn't always a full black ect.... I like that they made you chose between what to craft at times. Do you want a bomb or a shiv. (I didn't like that you could only use shivs on clickers. I'd have liked to have it if I was without a weapon but no big deal). The real problem I had was that I was carrying what... 10 weapons, but couldn't only hold 18 bullets for a pistol. In a game that emphasizes how desolate and important that these resources are it drove me nuts to have to leave bullets behind. I didn't even use the bow and arrow till like halfway through the game because I had so many other guns. And on top of that I'd silent kill alot. I wish they would have cut back to bow and arrow, 1 pistol. 1 good rifle, 1 good shotgun, and then I guess the flame thrower. I don't need a sniper pistol or a hand cannon. And let me carry all the ammo I can. I can magically hold a flamthrower and a shotgun in my backpack but only 7 arrows? I get that they were trying to be realistic but it was still way out of whack. And then on the harder levels if they are still the same limits you'll never have any ammo or arrows... I can't tell you how much propane i had to leave on the ground. Which I thought was horrible because they were trying to dictate how I killed the enemies in that section. They wanted you to use the flamethrower because they were giving you move fuel but I didn't want to in that section so I had to leave it all on the ground.

Ah gotcha, so on the default difficulty you had a bunch of stuff around. One up on the difficulty and that does change quite a bit. For me, I didnt mind the many different weapons since I had no idea what ammo I would find. The flamethrower? I actually didnt use it. From a... realism point of view, I may use it if it is there, but i sure aint travelling with it.

For almost every fight that i knew was coming, I needed to evaluate my inventory vs how I could win the fight. I liked that not killing anyone was a viable solution too. I found that for almost every fight I needed to kill a couple via stealth first and i needed to be pretty clever from time to time to fool the AI baddies.

I didnt do the Survivor difficulty but I hear that is brutal with next to nothing for supplies and no "sonic hearing". Clicker grab kill was VERY important and was like the first or second ability I got. From then on, all knives were for shivs first and all shivs were for clickers. I also liked that on hard you took more damage too. It was one of the few games I really wanted to try and get as "realistic" as possible for the best game experience. I did not try the normal difficulty though, I usually start on the one above default in game and move down from there if i need. I didnt need to drop it from Hard, but there were a couple times when I almost did.

Yeah, I get the no ammo I would find, but then again, it's not like we are finding all sorts of random ammo for weapons we don't have, we are finding the exact ammo for the exact weapons we're carrying. so if that is the case why can't the shotgun ammo and the hand cannon ammo be the same. Why can't the 22 pistol be the same as the 22 rifle? and really... you can throw 50 rounds of 22 ammo into your backpack easier than carrying a shotgun and rifle along with two pistols at the same time.

The flame thrower I haven't really used... It's fun little toy, and effective but I haven't mastered yet how much you need to spray an enemy before it's dead so I end up bursting with in then I feel like it's not enough so I shoot some more then I feel like I'm wasting the gas, which I hate wasting resource. Which is why for all the areas I end up killing every monster every time. Not only to make sure that I get all the resources from them that may fall but because I want to make sure I can freely roam the area looking for hidden stuff. I really love that they don't have a map or arrows or anything like that and let you sort of free roam but the levels are all constructed to guide you where you need to go really well. I always wonder how much I'll actually find new if I replay... I must have missed a shiv door somewhere, and I know some comics because they aren't in order...

Finished Last of Us... wow... very good. I can't wait to see the next Single Player DLC and what they do. If it will be completely different storyline or play from the end somehow.

Anyone played multiplayer that can talk about it? Is it worth playing. I linked it to my facebook account but only cause it said it would never post anything to it. And now I see my 'friends' doing things in a feed but I don't understand it at all. Haven't started playing yet though. Thoughts?

Grats! Last of Us certainly sets the bar high.

I messed around a little bit with the multi-player. I only messed around with the Survivor mode. I like that deaths are permanent for the round. It makes the MP incredibly tactical, which is something of a double edge sword. I can see it as super fun with folks you know all in a chat. But without chat and the general buffoonery level of the internetwebs game community, it can be very frustrating. I think the MP side is something that the company can build upon

But if you want to try it out and dont want to solo, I am shopping for my PS4 headset/mic anyway. When i get one, I will let ya know and I can go die with ya.

What is the game plus mode? Just replaying slightly harder? Why wouldn't I just start a new game?

Right on, once I get the headset in, I'll let ya know. I need to get you on the friends list anyway if you go to PS4.

Game Plus? It is starting the game over but with continuing from start with all your upgrades, health, weapon upgrades, etc. Like a logical progression would be say, Normal Difficultly Vanilla (as you did), next play through Hard Game +.
