rofl. theres a poll on biowares site. Of 30k people voting only 2% liked the ending. I'll find out exactly what it is in good time, But im hoping Ive prepared myself for it to be so bad by the hoopla that I wont find it as bad as the hype. Seriously at this point The only thing in my mind that could really warrant such a reaction is the reapers ultimately winning and the cycle continuing, and don't comment on that Supra.
My sole reason for that is it really does put a hamper on creating other games based on the Universe, and its friggin shame to literally close the book in what is in my opinion one of the best sci-fi universes ever created. And it would literally be closing the book, because the whole thing that makes space dramas interesting is that there are humans, and if the reapers win there are likely not going to be humans when the next space faring cycle comes along.
So in my opinion seriously that is the only way I will be that angry about the ending, I would be fine with it, if like had to practically destroy galactic civilization to stop the reapers, by like imploding the mass relays and marooning everyone in whatever system they are in at the time, but the reapers winning? That is about the only thing I couldnt stomache, and its literally just because that does kinda put a hamper on the "future titles" based on different characters. If they just bunked their ability to travel between systems, its not difficult to surmise within a reasonable timeframe, the civilizations of the galaxy might figure out how to make their own mass relays.
That and they cant really make a game about reapers anymore. So setting another title essentially doing the same thing, doesnt really work because a huge part of Mass Effect was literally figuring out what the hell you were up against and how to take them down. Once you know all that it kind of takes the wind out of the sails of a future title based on the same premise.
One of the big problems is the ending leaves more questions than it answers and it just doesn't seem to add up. Regardless of choice the end cinematic is the same with very minor variations. Even the ending I choose which to me was the "right" thing to do the video didn't make sense and the cinematic fit that ending the best. The other endings? the cinematic makes zero sense.
Like I talked to you last night. I think a lot of people (myself included) ****spoiler alert, TSD you know about this one already**** wanted Shepard to survive to see the brand new day.
