Hmm, interesting that Stalberg is the big problem for some, the guy we all where expecting to carry this team...

The fact that over D hasnt bring shit to help the offence isnt a problem? No shots from the blueline besides from a 20 year old kid.

And what about Crawford?

There is no reason to hit any panic button but there is alot of things that has to be looked into before we put all the blame on our superstar #25.

I think a lot of people have been complaining about the lack of shots from the D, especially on the Powerplay when Q doesn't even put them out on the Ice.

You will NEVER convince me that putting a forward on D on the PP is a good idea. I will never buy into that system. I think it is Special person.

Agreed somewhat, I don't think the D has really gotten an opportunity to produce, seems like Q doesn't really have as much confidence in them as he has in the past.

The forwards don't use the defense much anymore either. They are obsessed with working the puck from the goal line and trying back door and stuff attempts. Seems that the Hawks have abandoned what made them so dangerous in the SC winning season.

Exactly, to me, that is a reflection of what Q is preaching. He doesn't really give the D an opportunity to pitch in with the way things are currently run as a system.

With Leddy, Keith, Seabrook... I'd like to think our D is capable of putting up offensive numbers. I think Hammer has potential that was just never unlocked too. Lepisto looks offensively capable, Montador with a shot... we have the pieces... USE THEM!

I would let toews coach the team. **** it the players have already dictated who they want to play with anyways. Not sure what the point of a head coach is. I have to wonder if its just coaching sometimes.

You can all jump on me now.

TCD you like men jumping on you don't you?

What do you think Stalberg's trade value is? A few hockey sticks? Maybe a washer?

I'm sorry. The guy improves game by game (probably because there is now a proper wing on the right side). That line looks great so far. In so much that for fantasy hockey players such as myself thinking about trying to nab Stalberg isn't really an outlandish thought right now.

Nice goal tonight. Wouldn't have happened without a great pass by Hossa but it also wouldn't have happened without Stalbergs speed to the net.

Sorry guys...Stalberg has been contributing. He really isn't much of a concern at the moment. As long as he has a center and good wing on the right side Stalberg can and will produce and contribute. He still sucks a long the boards though.

Lets wait and see how this new top line works against top tier teams though. The next 2 games should be good tests. Although i do think we will see the Oilers start to fall to earth a bit now.

Kid is absolutely horrible.... how many missed shots did he have tonight despite his lucky goal?

He hasn't been "absolutely horrible". He's been fine. That line is playing well. Leave it alone.

What was absolutely horrible? I must be missing something lately.

This line keeps generating chances, all three of them. This kid could score a hat trick and people would still say "he missed the net 5 times"...

lucky goal nothing. I can think of one other player on this team that would have had the speed to get to the net for that pass from Hossa (which was awsome) and that is probably Kaner..and I am even doubting that he would have got there in time. That goal came together because of 2 things a great pass and great speed from Stalberg. BOTH KNEW THAT PLAY WAS FORMING ALSO.

I was guilty of jumping on Stalberg too fast like everyone else. Until the clear picture of what was hanging up that line. The RW side. Now that it is fixed...tadaaaa so far so good. Not saying it will remain that way but so far this is correct line balance and slotting. Brunette was just too slow and not the playmaking right winger that the line needed. There was far too much emphasis on Toews being the playmaker at center and the rw position (where he kept having to cover for Brunette). Hossa up there has opened up the ice for this line with his playmaking abilities. Toews opens up space with his playmaking abilities and his grit along the boards and at the net. Stalberg can open it with his speed like he often does. It could be a very productive line..a very productive line. It took waaaay too long to put it together. Brunette was given far too much time on it on the RW side.

There is nothing wrong with having great speed as your only real asset. It's what you do with that speed that matters. Stalberg uses it fine. And incase anyone missed it he also had some great forechecks and backchecks tonight. Thanks to that speed.

And if anyone wants to use missing the net and not finishing as an excuse to nail Stalberg to the cross. You should also do it for guys like Frolik. Just saying. I like Frolik a lot but he too has some issues with finishing does he not? Probably more so than Stalberg to be honest.

With Stalbergs speed he will continue to get more chances than the average player, why is that used as a knock against him? So far this year, it looks like he has smartened up and his hands have improved... 6 points in his last 8 games. Haters gonna hate!

Very good point about Frokik and very evident tonight.

And no way was that an easy goal. Just getting there was half the battle. Although the set up from Hossa was far more impressive than the goal. He laid that puck right on his tape. Timing, Timing, Timing.....

This team has the worst PP in the league and tied for the best record. Yea......

I've been saying this from day one.

And I like both players. Neither are superstars, so you have to cut them some slack. Both have great potential and both contribute in different areas of the game. If the Hawks were to trade either of them, it better be a damn good return.
