Here's the first link I could find that mentions that Jackson may be up by May, as Hendry had discussed: Mike Quade Is Already No Fun as Cubs Manager | KentSterling.com

Somewhere else at a different time, Hendry said he's be up in May or June, and said July at the latest a different time.

That's one guy's opinion, he didn't even speak with Hendry. I have looked and I don't see any of this anywhere.

why ask that? google it yourself if they dont provide the link. not that difficult.

I have and I see nothing.

It wasn't one guy's opinion. It was reported multiple times. If you missed it, that's your problem. I'm digging through pages and pages of Google for proof. Take or word, or don't.

I don't believe you, so just post a link and this all goes away. Maybe when you are digging through pages and pages of google searches, you will realize that you allowed other people's opinions to become fact in your mind.

No, I didn't.

And why the hell are we debating this? We all know he'll be up this year, even YOU know that. Why the hell does it matter now?

That's dumb, keep him at 2B where he could have a spot on the MLB team at some point. Unless they are preparing to trade him. ???

He would most likely be a player like Darwin Barney. Will be a 2B in the maors but will play SS too. If he makies majors.

Then why move him to SS for minor league action if he will play 2B just as much, if not more, in the majors?

More playing time in minors and SS is his natural position. If he can play SS, he can play 2B too with no difficutly. He'll probably play 2B and SS during his time in the minors.

The hell you can't bench Colvin. Colvin very well could have been a fluke, he wasn't supposed to be this good. You don't just keep him in because.

:obama:

Colvin was chosen in the 1st round. 13th overall. If anything he was supposed to be "this good" sooner.

No, before this season, he wasn't supposed to be this good. He was what appeared to be a bust.

Odd. "He appeared to be a bust" yet put up better numbers than Guyer for 80% of his minor league career and people are actually mad about losing Guyer.

On top of all this that STILL wasn't my point.

Colvin was in fact supposed to be as good as he was last season. That's why he was taken 13th overall. Adding to that still it's not like Colvin was sucking it up in the minors. It took him longer to develop but he wasn't exactly hitting .200 either.

I'd like you to explain how people thought Colvin was a bust at 23 years old heading into ST last season coming off the latter part of the 2009 season where he hit .300 and had an OPS of .859 with 14HR's and 50 RBI's for AA Tennessee. Colvin took a bit longer to develop than they thought but after they way he finished 2009 at Tennessee I really highly doubt many people were labeling him a "bust".

Are you telling me that you expected 20 homers out of Colvin this season before Spring Training started?

:obama:

Are you serious?

Talk about missing the point by miles and miles and miles.

The point isn't that I "expected Colvin" to do anything.

The point is: Someone said "Colvin wasn't supposed to be this good."

Yes he was. He was drafted as a first rounder. I don't think it's abnormal to expect a first round drafted OF'er to hit 20 HR's in a major league season if you spend the 13th pick in the draft on him.

The only thing really shocking or surprising about Colvin performance last season relative to his draft position was that he took this long to achieve it.

:turrible:

Yes, he was supposed to be good when he was drafted YEARS AGO. Poodski meant coming into the season.

Ok.

If he was supposed to be this good when he was drafted..... Then at anytime when he made his major league debut and got his first real extended playing time those expectations would still exist.

The knock on Colvin was that he was expected to progress faster. Not that he came out of nowhere last season after hitting .300 and 14HR's in half a season at AA.

Nice work.

Colvin was not suppost to hit 20hr before this season started. If he didn't have "camp Colvin", he probably wouldn't even have made the team.
