Is there anything in this organization that is not dysfunctional? Those who keep saying how this is the best head coaching job available this upcoming offseason, give me a fugging break. This organization does nothing right, period. Coaches with options will only come here if Georgie Jerk off begs then overpays, not likely. We will end up with someone completely off the radar, then its the cycle all over again
Sure they could choose a stable organization like the giants, Jets, Cleveland, LV, indy, NO, Dallas or Jax.

Of all those organizations the only ones that aren't disasters with idiot owners are NO and Jax. And NO roster/salary cap issues are a nightmare.

So I guess there is Jax!

The only argument for Ryan Poles to stay as Kevin Warren’s fall guy is another year of GM salary. The downside is you get to take all the blame for an outright football catastrophe that is really only going to get worse in 2025. It makes sense for him to resign, lick his wounds as an assistant GM and make another run at doing the job in 5-10 years.

I think Ryan Pace wish he did it instead of the ridiculously stupid Justin Fields trade. Had he left in January 2021 when the writing was on the wall he would never have made the worst move his career with the Bears and might already be a GM again by now.

There might be some stigma from owners around the league over quitting on a franchise, but at the same time the Bears are the mayors of Fuckedsville. There’s no competing with Detroit, Minnesota or Green Bay for the foreseeable future…taking one of the lifeboats now rather than getting bullied into a bunch of bad all-in moves this offseason makes you look smart.

Name one reason you want to hire him.
He supposedly wanted to fire eberflus when the time was perfect. I already said this. Not to mention the sheer amount of praise Cunningham has gotten at supposedly being the next great GM.

Good. Get rid of Poles and promote Cunningham, the guy that actually wanted to fire Flus last year when it was the right thing to do
This is probably their best option. Send Kevin Warren packing too

I would not be opposed to this. Realistically the FO will hire another bum anyways. Why not hire a guy who knows the roster already. Maybe he has a better relationship with Warren.

LOL. So media hype. And you’re ignoring the 3 years he spent here with Poles.

Can we please get a GM that truly understands the notion of drafting at least one offensive and defensive linemen with two of their first 3 or 4 picks in every draft until the trenches are a strong point?

I've got the shits of constantly ending up with these corn brain GMs that are content with only one first round pick on the line and constantly filling the Left Tackle void with fifth or seventh round picks.

I think the only good solution is a gm rotation. It worked out so well for the oline this could be the next generational transition the bears can come up with.

Fucking genius. 👏

Do they rotate rounds when they draft? Or does Poles get even years and Cunningham the odd ones?

Poles leaving would be ideal at this point. Free agent signings have largely sucked. He's hit or miss on trades - either wins it or drastic overpay that bombs out. Despite top tier draft pick positions, he still hasn't hit on an obvious star. DLine and OLine still largely suck 3 years in. Plus the most damning is keeping Flus and repeating the same failures all in the name of 'continuity' while overestimating the roster's quality when they've largely played garbage ass QBs to get the 14 wins in 47 games.

But Cunningham had absolutely nothing to do with any of that right? I’m sure he was countering the proper move every time right?

Media hype? This was coming from agents and other front office personnel, but sure. The funny thing is you trying to back me into a corner while knowing even less about the guy

I’m not trying to back you into a corner. I just think it’s hilarious you want to fire Poles only to hire his BFF who has been working hand in hand with him to shape this roster for three years.
