The second to last episode of season 5 is one of the best in the series in my opinion, although the season as a whole did drag a bit
Season 4 is commonly considered one of the best seasons of Dexter. Most people feel it started to go down hill in season 5.
So who liked the ending? Gotta say it was clever.
I got pissed because I thought my cable went out. It was open for interpretation, but now Chase has confirmed what happened.
When I saw the guy go to the bathroom I knew what was up. Was surprised when they abruptly blacked out but it was all from Tony's perspective so when all went black for him, it went black for us as well.I got pissed because I thought my cable went out. It was open for interpretation, but now Chase has confirmed what happened.
I'd almost argue that by the end
when he is finally entirely devoid of any soul or conscience, he might have been persuaded to flip
I figured that's what happened, but until recently Chase never confirmed it. It was his show he could have claimed any ending he wanted to.
Keeping in mind there are people reading this thread that haven't seen the ending yet.
There were people that had doubt's until now, probably wishful thinking, just wanted the family to live happily ever after, that was never going to happen.
Chase said his original plan for Tony's death was to show him going to a meeting with Johnny Sack and that's the last anyone ever sees of Tony. That could also have been ambiguous, whacked or flipped? Of course Tony would never flip, so yeah, whacked it is.
I think the ending was done in the way it was so those who wanted the happy ending could still have it if they chose to overlook all the obvious clues including Tony's favorite scene from the Godfather. The kicker, and something that was also foreboding, was the way they had Meadow struggling to parallel park when she reached the diner. While she struggles to park, the end draws near for dear old dad. As she enters the diner, it's lights out for dad before he even spots her.
Yup, except for one thing.
Never seeing Meadow again. Tony never even liked that giant ****** AJ, a total embarrassment. Carm, meh. But Meadow was the light of his life. Dad's and their daughters, just look at Trump, no wait, don't, terrible example!
they could have done a whole sequel series, though... tony soprano and fam meet steve martin and rick moranis in 'My Blue Heaven!'
;-)
I would like to thank ole for sparking this revisiting.
Anything more ridiculous than the tub of guts son on the swim team? C'mon!
