We should sign one of Bosh/Dirk/LeBron or Wade. NO ONE ELSE.

match up contracts that cleveland would want. they have to please cleveland because they're over the cap.

What contracts? I don't think Cleveland is over the cap with Shaq's contract coming off the books.

Dallas would take Varejo's terrible contract and LeBron.

Cavs would take picks, Dampier, Beuabouis and another player.

that's 14 mil worth of salary. lebron and varejao would cost about 26. plus their picks would be CRAP.

Not only would neither trade work financially, but neither Cleveland nor Boston would get any sort of fair compensation. For either trade to receive any consideration the Bulls would have to give up Noah and multiple future first round picks.

He meant Toronto, not Boston but that's the first actual post there.

Yeah this is the same reason I stay away from the Rockets boards. They may know every detail about Rockets ball, but they know nothing about the rest of the NBA and logic in general. If a guy who averages 12 scores 35 against us, its the only time they've watched him, so he must be a star. The trade ideas are just as stupid.

Second legit post.

go ahead. put it on a smart messageboard.

lebron will sign first, and he can force the issue to chicago.

we could give deng to them or the wizards who have no SF.

we could get bosh for mostly draft picks because ours would be good.

where's the faulty logic in that?

Wait, correct me if I'm reading this wrong but did you say the Wizards have no SFs? I don't know if they are potential free-agents but they have Josh Howard and Al Thornton...

Well, Im not as fatalistic as the OP is about being able to do something with Deng and Hinrich. But I agree that we should spend money on overpriced players. There are really only 4 guys that you can say are worth max contracts. If its not one of those, youre better off being sensible and signing more good players, since you cant get one of the 4 players worth max deals. Getting Kyle Korver and Mike Miller would be better than getting Joe Johnson. Getting David Lee would be better than getting Amare Stoudemire.

I just think youre better off being sensible if you cant get James, Wade, Bosh, or Nowitzki.

i wasn't aware that "epic facepalm" is an intelligent basketball term. what may it refer to.

josh howard has a team option. he just tore his ACL so idk if they would take it. plus he's not worth the contract. howard and thornton really haven't proven anything or played well in a while. that's why i think they could be looking for a SF.and i don't mean it has to be exactly the wizards. the clippers have set themselves up with everything but a SF as well. and davis, gordon, griffin, and kaman are all scorers so it's beneficial to have someone like deng who can work off the ball.

hey lex i see where you're coming from, but this isn't the time for this. you have been looking for a scoring big man ever since eddy curry left this team. if you have the opportunity to get one, you have to jump on it. even if you have to overpay, it's because someone like amare is just that much better than someone like david lee. and amare's concern is about his defense correct? well again, we're talking about david lee, who i think is significantly worse of a defender than amare.

Here's the problem with Amare. His defense isnt good enough to overpay for. And his defense is bad enough where youre going to, at times, want to play someone like Gibson, who is better at defense. Stoudemire will want to play all the time...and he will want a max contract. I think if you get David Lee, it causes less conflict when it comes to playing time and subbing according to situations.

The Bulls were undefeated when Kirk Hinrich scored 17 points. For most teams, its nothing for their SG to score 17 points. I think we need more scoring from the 2 and the 3. We led the league in rebounding last year. Id be curious to know where our team ranked when it comes to combined scoring from their 2 and 3 spots.

I think you might be able to find a place for Hinrich. Take Washington for example. Im thinking they probably want to change their culture after Arenas. And along with that, I cant see them picking up Josh Howards team opton. Hinrich and Deng are both solid citizens and Hinrich can kind of help groom Wall. I think the fact that he was colleagues with Rose might enhance his appeal.

What I can also see is Deng to Minnesota and Al Jefferson and Hinrich to Washington. But then again, ive seen that Washington wants to buy out Arenas' contract so that he's never in the locker room at the same time Wall is. So coughing up that coing could curtail their spending. But then again, changing their culture could make them more willing to spend on solid character guys, which Deng and Hinrich are.

I agree with most of this except that we need more scoring from the 3. SG, PF and C all could provide a little more before SF.

Bosh would make more than $16 million if we did a s&t for him, same with LeBron.

Each of them would make around $30 million more doing a S&T or staying with their home teams.
