Bagent does pretty much everything you wish Fields would do except throw 15+ air-yard passes. Was hoping to see a few deep shots because it doesn't look like Bagent has the technique to utilize his hip torque for deep passes. Seems like Janocko should be working on that with him.
We will see moving forward. When teams adjust hopefully he does as well. I want to see a QB is Chicago during my lifetime

We dont have to image.. that was Fields average in year 2.. well actually Fields average was lower at 149ypg so yeah no imagination needed..
We do have to imagine, I'm pretty sure during Eagles game last year people were bitching

I think he was literally referring to Bagent's statistics not being gamechanging. people were shitting on Fields for his low passing yard games when he was wrecking defenses last year (on the ground)

your nicknames are atrocious and so is your mere continued existence. fuck yourself
Bears finished with worst record in NFL so who really did any wrecking of defenses?

There would be no need to crucify him, if he had those stats and played well. Which, when having those stats, he still gets criticism..also he has 31 starts I believe under his belt...that isn't 2 seasons and he has had 2 coaching philosophies in that time. Dude is 24, keep him and let Bagent continue to develop. Next season Fields fucks up, u can put in Bagent asap and ride the wave. RG3 and Cousins type of problem isn't bad to have...especially in this QB hellhole
I don’t really mind that path. Even if we pick a new QB, we won’t be able to fix the line with starters and back ups in 1 off season. So either they get a new QB and wait until the following year to actually get better on the line or vice versa. Let’s see what they want to do.

He played solid today — even great considering what the expectations were for him. That said, he is unknown to other teams. Once the book goes out on him and defenses start taking away what he does best — and when defenses start cheating up because they do not respect his arm strength — it will be interesting to see how he handles that.

He is sort of like a poor man’s Mac Jones but with more mobility.

Body slam here by Spartan. This should’ve been /thread
No it shouldn't, he crowned Bagent as Joe Montanaish after this performance. Also quit acting like Fields has had talent around him..last year receivers couldn't make majority of rosters, Mustipher and oline were worse...stop the bs

If you have to dive back into the bag of excuses with "it's everyone else's fault" for Fields when you are comparing him to a rookie D2 QB making his first ever start.. you have already lost the argument

I'm comparing him to a NFL QB....when u need "D2 QB" as a justification for ur dumbass assessment and arguments, they don't hold any weight.

Now go watch tape and give us ur miraculous breakdowns, that u think hold more value than Jenkins, Chase and OSullivan

Mooney, Pringle, Harry, Webster Smith-Marsette, Pettis, St Brown.....yeah sounds like excuses guy...what's next Mustipher was a great center, but Fields screwed him

If Fields was the guy, we'd know it by now. He's not the guy.

But that shouldn't have anything to do with yesterday. Can't we just enjoy the moment and be happy for a D2 undrafted kid who defied all odds and won his NFL debut, in his rookie year no less? How many UDFA QBs can say that? Not many.

The people shitting on Bagent are the ones who brought up Fields first. So yeah, if those people say Bagent wasn't impressive yesterday because he only had 162 yards, it's fair to bring up that that's Fields' average.

Last I checked Mooney was a 1000yard WR, and the fact that all those guys have better stats with other QBs kind of ruins this excuse,

What's the excuse this year when Fields only had 1 good game? Still everyone else's fault?

What is there to enjoy? Literally what are some of you crying about when it comes to lack of flowers being thrown his way? Who fucking cares that Bagent got a win it doesnt matter.

The whole point is building a team that can compete in the playoffs regularly and hopefully win a SB. Bagent isn't that guy. It was either going to be Fields or the field in the 2024 draft. Dumping this coaching staff and the 2024 draft is all that matters.

The over the top discourse that has taken place the past 18 hours wasn't worth the win.

What result would've made you happy yesterday? Would you have enjoyed it more if the Bears had lost and Bagent played like shit, lost a fumble and threw two picks?

No u wouldn't know by now....if less than 2 seasons of starts equals...u know, then Guys like Steve Young 28 starts(30 years of age) Brees 27 games(lights click on at 25 yoa) still shit on by staff, traded to Saints HOF career...Warner not drafted, said age maturity helped when he got shot at 28, plenty more...but Fields is 24 and still developing...keep him and Bagent and continue developing both guys
