Lol I think thats a generational bias thing..... I always notice comedians who are mid thirties or older who talk about music have to trash anything being made today and talk about anything that was made when they were a kid as though it was legendary.
But people do that with alot of stuff.... football was so much better 30 years ago.... cars were so much better 30 years ago..... society was so much better 30 years ago, etc etc.
Its that "Good Ole Days" syndrome people tend to have once they get to a certain age....
Best one is video games though, cause its real easy to dispell that bullshit.... even to yourself.... I remember N64 being so awesome when I was a kid.... so I got my old one out when I was in college and tried playing some shit.... its terrible in comparison to the games of today.... took me 5 mins to go back to Assassin's Creed.
EDIT: Oh I forgot the Star Wars Prequel haters.... the special effects alone made those movies enjoyable.... they get nostalgic for how awe struck they were with Star Wars in the 70's and ***** that the prequels are not the same.... well of course their not the same, they are different fucking movies.

Well a lot of it is terrible. At least the shit that's heard commonly throughout the media for the most part. But you can say that about many eras. Every era has terrible music produced that is somehow popular.
But thing is there is SOOOOO much music now. You're bound to find something you like that's produced today. Hell my 60 year old dad has actually liked some new music I've listened to and in general hes regarded modern music as garbage.

I just know I have heard quite a few of them talk about anything newer than like the 80's as if its all completely the same and its all garbage and thats bull.
And btw I think you are proving my point with the whole "golden age of rock".
Lol in 20-30 years I will be bitching to people in their 20's that the early 2000's was the "Golden Age of Alternative Rock" or some dumb bullshit like that..... they will be playing virtual reality Assassin's Creed and I will ***** about how back in my day you were happy with an Xbox 306 that you had to have replaced 6 times over 5 years because of overheating issues.
Point is I think everyone has an innate need to defend their generation and claim that it is better than the new incoming/developing generation.
