Greek salad. Chopped cucumber, tomato, red onion, green pepper, kalamata olives, seasoned with a little salt and oregeno. Tossed in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Instead of getting the crumbled feta, bought a block of it and diced it up. So much better. Snagged a rotisserie chicken from the local deli for a protein on the side, along with some whole wheat pita and hummus. Should have enough to do the same thing for lunch tomorrow.

I should learn to do food like this more often. Really dig Mediterranean food as well

I make a similar salad. I deseed the cucumbers and add roasted garlic and roasted red peppers to the olive oil and balsamic dressing. Also if i'm making enough to have leftovers I prep the cucumbers separately, I peel, deseed, and cut them up, and then salt them, and set them aside for a halve hour to get the water out of them, rinse them and dry them off. I've made cucumber salad and after a day or two in the fringe it gets watery. I'f your making a salad that will be eaten right then, I skip that step.

What is your deal with hating cucumber seeds?

Imagine shutting down the food forum for lack of activity, but food threads have taken over the bar.

I'm even more extreme in my hatred of tomato seeds. Neither of them bring anything to the party, flavor, texture, nothing, no useless ingredients in my food. Freeloading libtards living off the bounty of the other hard working flavorful crispy ingredients.

#51 should try English cukes.

I do when they look as good or better/fresher than the regular cucumbers. IMO opinion, much like the citizens of England, they usually don't look great.

I find the reverse, and almost exclusively buy the English ones now. I also find they last longer.

Food Forum was moved only slightly before the return of the banned, during the off season Unbanned came with start of season also.

I was just making a comment that there is a lot of food talk going on now. And since when is fairness a consideration at CCS?

Fair enough.

I think I mostly wanted to pop off about how this place went to shit for awhile.

That's wierd, the best chance for me to find good English cucumbers is Costco, it's three of them wrapped in plastic, I've had good luck with them. But the other places I shop, they kind of suck most of the time. Jewel, Caputo's, or Aldi. Caputo's is the best overall produce, most consistent, If I'm making a salad like nvan's my best chance to find good quality everything is Capato's, and their English just don't look as good as the regular.

Rush decided the subforums weren't worth the clutter. At the time it made sense.

Just finished making dinner.

Thinly sliced russet potatoes, tossed in fresh minced garlic, olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper. I microwaved them for about 12 mins so they would be semi-cooked, stirring about halfway through. Transferred the potatoes to a 13x9 pan in a single layer. Put 4 pieces of fresh caught cod on top of the potatoes, drizzled with olive oil, seasoned, and topped with thyme sprigs and lemon slices. Baked for about 18 mins at 425. Microwaving the potatoes ensures those are done without overcooking the fish. Served with fresh lemon wedges to put over the fish and potatoes prior to eating.

Side dish was pan sauteed cherry tomatoes. Chopped them in half, put in a bowl and tossed with garlic, salt, pepper and a little bit of sugar to help with carmalization. Heated up the skillet with some olive oil on medium high heat, and cooked the tomatoes very quickly. Only takes a minute or two. Added a bunch of fresh basil for the last 30 seconds or so, topped with fresh grated parmesan cheese.

Good shit. No pics tonight, everyone was hungry and I got a late start.
