I'd move to Seattle in a heartbeat if it weren't for the weather.

It's good if you like mild weather, though we're having a heatwave right now, upper 80s or low 90s for closing in on two weeks.

Most Summer days are lowish 80s, Winters don't get very cold, and its rare to get any sort of accumulation of snow outside of the mountains. Our Summers generally run long and it's still pretty warm into October, but start late, we get our bad rap mainly for late Winter/Spring, which is where it gets gray and damp. From what I understand Seattle weather is somewhat similar to London's but with nicer Summers (I've never lived in London so I can't say).

Our humidity is nowhere near as bad as Illinois, or the South East.

Oh, and we have awesome drinking water since that was brought up somewhere else. I hate drinking tap water elsewhere in the country because it almost always taste like ass.

Pfffffft, Portland wishes it were Seattle in a lot of ways, Beer, Skiing, Soccer, etc.

In all seriousness though, when you get out here, look for Mac and Jack's African Amber Ale, and Manny's Pale Ale. Both are amazing, and my two favorites from Seattle breweries, and probably two of my most favorite beers in general.

You should be able to get them in Portland. Diamond Knot is very good, but may be harder to get in Portland; and Scuttlebutt is over rated and has gone downhill imo. Their new recipes use too much hops, I don't want bitterness in my Heff's.

Asheville is amazing, but you would be living in an island surrounded by rednecks.

Boulder is great, but its expensive as **** and there are a lot of upper middle class and rich Subaru driving douchebags. If you are interested in Boulder, check out Nederland. Its basically the new Boulder.

Seattle is the best larger city in the country imo. If you can acclimate to the climate its fuckin amazing.

Good stuff, everyone. The actual short list is SF, Denver, and Nashville I'm thinking.

Check out Nederland. You're on crack to go to Denver over Boulder or Ned. Denver is kind of a shithole.

Yes, it is. Although Seattle is no slouch.

If you are a person that likes to get out of the city, Portland kind of sucks. Its out in the middle of nowhere. Not close to the beach, not close to the mountains. You have good river kayaking, but not a lot else.

Thats when the man running for city council only wore a thong and cowboy boots everyday.

Dont speak of something you know nothing about..I live here, your friends visited for a few days..You have never even been close

You realize thats a compliment, right?

I remember that article. The article itself a complete waste of time as is that guy that ran for council. I wonder what happened to him or what alley he lives in now.

I was in Seattle for a summer weekend before. Nice place, but what I remember was that the sun was still out at around 9:30pm, which was kinda cool. Anyone been to the San Juan islands up there? Been thinking of taking my woman for a weekend getaway there.

Honestly Seattle is a lot like SoCal without the great weather. Expensive homes, traffic, and tons of things to do. I would rather live in SoCal and enjoy the great year round weather and tall, tan, blondes.

http://transformationstreatment.com/north-carolina-drug-abuse-treatment/asheville-nc-drug-abuse-treatment/

However, drug abuse statistics in Asheville NC have been on the rise to win it all the negative publicity it can. North Carolina has already been a hub for drug addiction and Asheville being one of largest cities has not been able to have quite a clean escape from the blot called drug addiction.

One of the most commonly used drugs in Asheville is methamphetamine. Reportedly, methamphetamine cases have been on the rise among many residents of this peaceful city. Ethnic Mexican traffickers bear the brunt of introducing drug abuse in this city and in 2003, the Asheville Post of Duty arrested a large Mexican based group under the charge of distributing drugs to the city.

Asheville NC alcoholism/drug abuse has continued to show an upward trend, which has been quite alarming for the rehabilitation centers and the health department of the city. The easy access to drugs and influx of Mexicans finding easy routes for drug trafficking are a cause for major concern due to the increase in the drug abuse statistics.

Drug abuse statistics in Asheville, NC illustrate that it is alcoholism that seems to be rampant among local society too. Alcoholism and drug addiction in Ashville, NC both go hand in hand, and share the same statistics in terms of their usage and people affected by such consumption.

A gray area which is yet to be combated by the rehabilitation centers and government officials of Asheville is the fast pace at which drug and alcoholism usage is increasing. Narcotic abuse statistics in Asheville, NC also depict a gloomy picture for the city. The surge of drugs in the city shows the loopholes in the entire system of control and the health department.

Substance abuse in Asheville NC is a common phenomenon and has led to people being drained not only financially, but has also weakened their ethical and moral roots. Health is ignored for mere apparent pleasure acquired through the easy availability of these drugs.

Alcoholism and Drug addiction in Asheville, NC have found their roots deep in the youth of the city. With the passage of time, it is growing significantly. Although combative steps are being taken, as are preventive measures, alcohol and drug abuse will take time to subside.

The panhandling in Asheville has gotten so bad, the city put out a youtube video on combating it

ASHEVILLE –

It's not just buildings and fences in the West Asheville neighborhood where Catherine Campbell lives.

Even some trees get tagged by vandals using spray paint to leave their signature.

"The tagging has exponentially increased over the last eight weeks," Campbell said.

Asheville records show she's right — about tagging and graffiti in general, problems the city has acknowledged and is working to address.

By the numbers

7,140: Number of cases last fiscal year in which Asheville city crews covered or removed graffitti.

7,097: Number of cases during the first eight months of this fiscal year in which Asheville city crews covered or removed graffitti.

$31,530: Cost of graffiti removal so far this fiscal year.

Graffiti arrests

2011: 19 arrests.

2012: 28 arrests.

2013: 24 arrests

2014: 2 arrests through Feb. 26.

Source: Asheville Police Department.

83,000 residents

7000 graffitti incidents in 8 months

A personal crusade to spread the word on the evils of Asheville. I don't think they would like you anymore than you would like them.

OCD, right wing, delusional, crusaders would be the weird ones down there. It's probably best for everyone for you to stay away.
