Davis had been horrible? Not gunna argue for that shit. He's a solid bat with solg glove defense from what I've heard, better than castro's stanky ass.

He'a also 3 years older, playing an esiser position. He will be good but not as good as or he shouldn't be ahead of Castro. He's batting .248 and that's pathetic. I also don't want to start an argument. I hate doing that and I'm lazy.

Again, you're a moron. No sense to argue with one.

Heyward's average is too low and if you aren't going to care about batting average then you might as well vote for Colvin. Heyward is overrated.

Heyward- 3.8 WAR, .379 wOBA, .389 OBP. His BA is .278, how is that too low? Heyward is doing this in his age 20 season, and his has the 3rd highest WAR on his playoff bound team. He isn't overrated at all.

Just for reference, Colvin has 1.8 WAR. He's been a slightly better power hitter, but Heyward is on an entirely different level as a baseball player.

Heyward's been solid for the last month...but man, june and july were bad.

He hit .356 in July with a .414 wOBA. Yes, he was bad in June, but he was not bad in July at all.

I don't think its a month or two that matters, its the season as a whole.

Which is why Heyward is the ROY.

To say Davis has been horrible is very dumb, but to say he's better than Castro is iffy.

Castro wOBA- .338
Davis wOBA- .330

Castro wRC+ 107
Davis wRC+ 106

Davis has a big UZR advantage 7.4 to -0.5, but plays a much less valuable position.

WAR- Castro 2.2, Davis 1.9

Both a really good, young player who will be helping their team win games for a long time. However I have a hard time imagining you would argue that Castro doesn't have a much higher ceiling given the three year age difference, Castro playing a much more valuable position, and the fact that Castro will play out the rest of his cost controlled years in a much more favorable hitters park.

Like I said, to call either of them garbage or bad is wrong, both a real good young players.

Ah, I was under the impression that he was still batting like .268.

Sorry, I'll look up updated stats next time, I didn't because his average was like that about a-2 weeks ago.

3. Buster Posey
4. Gaby Sanchez
5. Jonathan Niese
6. Ike Davis
7. Starlin Castro
8. Tyler Colvin

that's how I'd go.

I wouldn't put Niese or Davis ahead of Castro. Unless he's much better than his stats show, Niese has a 3.70 ERA. That's decent, but that's not enough to impress me more than a .315 batting average.

Plus Castro has played in 15 less games.

The only issue is that FG is awful generous with Castro's defense. They have him at a -.5, but like B-R has him at -14 runs. FG also has him at +2 DRS.

So really his defensive numbers are all over the place.

Didn't they call up Castro to be a defensive upgrade rather than an offensive upgrade? lol

Yeah but his defense has been an upgrade over Theriot. I know he allowed a lot of runs because of his defense but the pen sucks and can't help him out. He also made tons of play Theriot wouldn't, that save runs and players on base.

Yeah right now Theriot is a better defensive SS than Castro.

He has made a few plays Theriot wouldn't have made, but Theriot didn't make the dumb mistakes Castro does. I think Castro will be alright if he sticks at SS, but right now he is a below average SS defensively.

He's 20, Theriot is 30. He's fine. If I had to pick, I take Castro as the SS than Theriot for both O and D anyday.

Sure for the future, but if you are talking right now 2010. Theriot is the better defender at SS, and I don't think there is really any debate on it.

Castro is better on offense though, and probably overall.

I just wish Theriot would ahve played this year for the Cubs like he has for the Dodgers thus far.

He did play good but he sucks at making at-bats and not a 1 hitter, more of an 8 hitter.

You were all hatin' on Theriot's D but now he has better D than Castro? Obviously true, but I haven't heard anyone saying Castro sucks (well, besides Teeth anyway).

Well thats on our dumbfuck manager. Theriot should never hit above 8. He really should hit ninth.
