We're talking about Rookie of the Year. It's not really fair to compare them to other plays who aren't rookies.

I don't know about that. I think it's fair to compare them against the average player because how else do we know how much they are really contributing.

It's just silly to compare a shortstop versus first basemen and left fielders.

Ok so if there was a first baseman doing the same thing as Castro he would be a bit above average too? Or a left fielder?

Castro is given more dap because he plays SS. His position is a big reason for his value. Compared to other SS he has been nothing short of amazing with the bat, and that's really what he should be compared to.

Niese should be compared to other starting pitchers and Castro to other shortstops.

Yeah, I was thinking something different. Although, I think that there needs to be a little bit of everything taken into consideration. How they perform overall, vs. SS, vs all other rookies.
