Was I? Re-read my post and show me where I said in it that Niese is better because of that one stat. I just posted em. All it is.

My bad, you think Castro should finish higher than Niese because he will have the better career. Stupid, nonetheless.

I never said that, I just think Castro is having a better season and he's playing a way harder position.

-0.5 UZR

-1.7 UZR/150

-14 DRS

And the dozen or so games I've seen from him, not impressed.

UZR is very flukey from year to year, so using not even 1,000 innings to judge how he is off of a flukey stat, is not the way to go here. Part of his UZR is because in his first week or so up he had like 7-10 errors. If you take away even half of those, he is average, according to this one flukey stat.

I don't care what you've seen from him. I honestly don't.

Okay...
Niese=109 ERA+
Castro=106 OPS+

If Niese is average, than Castro is slightly below average. Yea, now you see how stupid your logic is now waldo.

Yes, you used one stat.

If you don't care then gtfo and stop talkin to me maybe? Seems pretty logical. What do you think? Why would you want to waste your time with someone you don't care for their opinion?

And no, I was not using the stat for who was better, but to show since he thinks Niese is average, than Castro must be below average since Niese is 9% better than the league average pitching wise, compared to Castro being 6% better than the league average at the plate. Reading comprehension, buddy.

Just from how you wrote the sentence, it just looked like that's what you mean...can you answer my question please?
Well I think his weakness is throwing accuracy and hands, his throwing reminds me of Alexei in his rookie year when he seemed careless at times.

Got a dick up your ass? Keith does.

Why are you comparing Castro to all hitters? Should he really be compared vs. first baseman?

His sOPS+ sits at 129 which is quite a bit better than Niese's.

You always mention Castro's defense which I agree with you has been subpar but yet you use ERA for a pitcher? Niese's FIP sits at 3.99 which is a bit worse than his ERA.

There is no way Niese has been better than Castro unless you actually believe the TZR rating of -14. Which seems to be a real outlier from UZR and DRS.

I compared Castro to all hitters and Niese to all pitchers, what is the problem with that? He has a .339 wOBA and Niese has a 3.99 FIP, both are basically a bit above average.

It's ROY. The R stands for Rookie. This isn't 1914 and we aren't playing in the federal league. Not everyone is a rookie.

Ok so if there was a first baseman doing the same thing as Castro he would be a bit above average too? Or a left fielder?

Castro is given more dap because he plays SS. His position is a big reason for his value. Compared to other SS he has been nothing short of amazing with the bat, and that's really what he should be compared to.

Niese should be compared to other starting pitchers and Castro to other shortstops.
