Think you're missing my point. They have a series of options. They can go for Heyward. They could go for castro trade and Zobrist. They could re-sign Fowler....etc. These are all the options that have been discussed as possible.

From what i heard, your pretty much on point..

The Castro trade is to free up money and bring in Zobrist who is supposedly choosing between Cubs and Mets..
And according to his agent is talking with his wife on that decision, which could come tonight. .

i also heard that Heyward could still be in play even with adding Zobrist because their moving Castro contract and possibly Soler..


Wouldn't that be awesome and a boost to that lineup

Maybe dealing Castro for a light return was more towards opening up payroll flexibility for other moves..

I would love to see him be a good CF. Much to prove, as he hasn't played there at all. But I would be OK seeing him get a chance there.

Seems he won't get the 2nd base job unless Zobrist goes to OF when needed - injury, rest, etc.

I'd be OK seeing Ryan get cut tomorrow. I don't need another guy sharing IF time with Javy. Yankee salary dump? - Wasn't he cut during 2015 by Seattle? If so he can't be making much.

He does nothing for me.

Edit: Way off! He's been a Yankee three years.

Once in last 6 season he batted .230 or better, and that was < .250 5 years ago.

Clearly we were forced to take this guy.

Jeez that Miller trade tho..... I mean that package is seriously insane. Swanson is likely a top 15 prospect on any list. Blair is likely a top 75 on any list. And Inciarte by no means is a bad CF option. The braves turned one year of Jason Heyward and Jordan Walden into those tee plus Tyrell Jenkins. That's some serious return.
