Agreed. Regular season was fine, but the 4th pitcher is a weak link in the playoffs.

I'm thinking that they end up going with Montgomery next year.

I would like to see them sign Rich Hill and not pull the option on Hammel. Then trade Arrieta for pitching prospects. They really need to bolster this area.

So the rotation would be Lester, Hendricks, Hill, Lackey, Montgomery. On the wings would be Underwood to replace Lackey.

Is Hammel an option year or available to be traded? And yes, I get with Arrieta that a trade could be considered. Boras is agent and not likely to sign with Cubs. Package him with a player like Soler and surely some good prospects are coming back toward the Cubs. I do like the idea of having at least two LHSP. Not sure they need three (Lester, Montgomery, Hill).

If your goal is to win the WS next year Arrietta gives you the best chance than any of the combos mentioned here

Tickets to tonight's game will probably be literally half the price you would have paid to get into game 3. Wouldn't you think?

You got to feel that if you win tonight that you're way more in it than the numbers say. Got to have better at bats. Got to get better pitching.

So Hill And Montgomery for arrieta and Hammel?

You can toss away next year's chances to win a ws

I don't love the idea of Montgomery as a top 4 starter. As a 5 who I just want to throw 180 innings? Sure, but a starter in a playoff game? His stuff to me simply isn't consistent enough for me to love that thought. The Cubs have his rights for years so they don't need to rush him.

Also, Underwood has not shown he's a future MLB starter. I think he'll be better obviously but I'm not sure enough on any arm in the minors to say they're future MLB players on solid teams. Lackey has obviously struggled in the playoffs but he had a good year.

Indisbutable that the wind blew that foul ball back onto the field.Suggest you watch the games, moron

I think it's easier for you to stop posting about the same thing over and over again. Makes you look foolish....but most everyone already knows that. You also might want to update your list of names to call people...that is also very redundant.

Who the heck is running this place? Get the game 5 thread going. The lineups are out.
Let's get some real discussion going rather than arguing whether Ome is an idiot or not.

For the record, you both want to fire the hitting coach for not having guys hit the ball to right field AND you want to criticize the guys who hit the ball the other way when they do not hit it hard. It's "shocking" that you're upset at both of those things.
