Rossy. Storybook ending for a high class guy. I'm so happy he went yard. We needed it. And he will cherish this for the rest of his life. None of these guys will ever have to pay for a meal in Chicago, for the rest of their lives.

A WS game 7 HR in his last MLB at bat, and carried off the field by adoring teammates.

I feel you. I know like 2 people who love sports like I do. My best friend and my brother. I watched this whole season alone pretty much. Only texting with them.
This is so god damn cool. I can't believe it.

I lost a good old friend last year in the playoffs, and my brother since then. They would be the first two I would share the ups and downs with.

My friend's niece posted a picture where she had written his name on the Wrigley wall last night. Very cool.

Someone is going to make a lot of money turning this cubs season into a movie. Let's look at the plot lines

-108 years without a world series
-Ross retiring after the season
-Fowler suddenly rejoining the team.
-Coghlan suddenly out and then back in at the deadline
-losing schwarber all season
-Kyle Hendricks going from 5th starter to MLB ERA leader
-Epic Matusz game
-Arrieta's no hitter
-Baez(IIRC) mother's day HR

And that's just the regular season. In the post season there was...
-Epic come back vs the Giants
-Beating the Giant's mojo in even years
-Hendricks losing vs Kershaw 1-0 and then coming back in game 6
-Schwarber not playing all season then showing up in the world series and hitting .412/.500/.471 despite not even being able to play the field.
-Game 7..... all of it...
-Ross homering in his last at bat.
-Hendricks beating another cy young winner in game 7

Seriously this shit writes itself. It's better story than the 1980 miracle on ice.

Random thought of the "i can't sleep" part of the night....

It's amazing how Hendricks can go 1-1 with a 1.42 ERA, 19 hits, 4 ER, 7 bb, 19 k's in 25.1 IP and not win the LCS mvp, and not win the WS mvp and still some how go under the radar. As a reference point, Kluber threw 34.1 IP giving up 28 hits, 7 ER, 8 bb, 35 K's with a 1.83 era.

I know I'm a Hendricks fanboy but god damn. If the cubs win 1 or two more of his games rather than losing 1-0 in 2 of his starts he's a bigger name. He was the most dominat starter no one talks about this post season.

Don't often post but I had to contribute to this thread. Congrats to the Cubs!! We waited long enough. I know my grandmother has been watching the Cubs for many, many years and am thankful she is still around to see this and rejoice.

GO CUBS, WE ARE FINALLY WINNERS!

I'll say this. On the walk where Joe pulled him, his stuff was still good. He still had command of all his pitches. He got robbed of a strike on ball 3. He has been the best pitcher in our rotation at pitching his way out of trouble this post season. How many times did he get Cleveland batters to hit into easy double plays. Javi fucked up a bunch tonight, but Kyle was pitching a gem. IMHO, Joe shouldn't have pulled him. I think he could have went for 7 more outs, at the very least 4.

I also did not agree with Joe allowing Edwards to concede second. Shit, we probably could have gotten the pick off at first, because you knew they were going to run. That wasn't Lester out there. Throw to first damnit! The Indians would have basically handed us the out, because they were desperate to score.

Well, I kept my promise. I stayed away.

Congratulations to all the Cub Fans. I know first hand how great it felt in 2005. Enjoy the moment and if you can come on down for the parade on Friday.

Joe has some horseshoe up his ass for sure. Made all the wrong moves and claimed it was all going to plan. I know Hendricks expected to be pulled giving up one fucking run again after being hosed on strike three. First emotion we have seen from Hendricks screaming in his glove as Maddon was walking to the mound. He said the plan worked, even though he wanted LEster to start a clean inning. At least he hosed Lester the same way again not allowing Chapman to start a clean inning.

I had a good feeling about this fact:Heading into game 7,the run total(in Cleveland)was Indians 20 Cubs 19.The final run score would be(fittingly)both teams finish at 27.As someone who only has the internet,I was so freekin' glad that I was able to get stream anybody except Joe Buck and got MLB cast.Love that the 108 year monkey was extinguished, but kudos to Cleveland,as they have classy fans.

Seriously this shit writes itself. It's better story than the 1980 miracle on ice.

I would also add:

- The rain delay. People look for that 'Act of God' shit and can you get a bigger example? That damn weather radar was brutal. Turned to the family and said - 'oh shit, the kids aren't going to bed until 3am. That rain looks like at least an hour and a half'. It was 17 minutes. 17 minutes to get them all to calm down. Every player interviewed and Maddon all said that training room meeting and the speech by Heyward had major impacts. THAT is the shit of movies.

- Montero - playoff BA of .093 and gets the key hit off the bench in the 10th to secure a WS victory. The margin of victory.

- The bats - dead team wise, wake up, back to dead, wake up. Insane.

- The baffling managing decisions. Coaching decisions add to drama - good and bad. For example, Pete Carrol's decision in the SB. Tikhonov pulling Tretiak in the Miracle on Ice. All that shit added to the drama.

And yes, Game 7. While it might not have been the best 'baseball' purist game (4 errors, etc), it was arguably the most dramatic single sports event I've ever witnessed. The only one that came close was the 2013 game 7 Hawks v. Detroit and the disallowed Hjalmarsson/Coincidental Minors game. It seemed like every inning from the 5th on was a fucking heart attack. Crazy that the LEAST stressful inning was the 9th.
