CVS used to sell six packs of this beer called Clear Creek Ice for about 4 bux back when I was in college. It was absolutely putrid. Like a step below Natty light I’d say.

My college days were dollar 40's of Wild Cat and King Cobras. If we had a few extra bucks, we'd upgrade to Steel Reserve or Old English 800. The canned beer would be Beast Ice(Milwaukees Best Ice)

I'll never forget my first IPA in 2004. I thought someone liquefied flowers! There was no way the beer was supposed to taste like that on purpose!

Miller GENUINE Draft is where it was once at.

Also Miller Hi-Life, the champaign of beers.

Lol Miller did a lot of weird stuff considering how much money they make on that ubiquitous pisswater Miller Lite.

I like when the blue collar guys get all Coke vs Pepsi with Miller vs Bud.

Its light pisswater beer gents, cmon now.

Have any of the former (or current) military guys drank foreign beers while out of country that were uniquely bad?

I was reading the guys in Vietnam had big brands like Pabst Blue Ribbon or Budweiser, but also there were local Vietnam beers as well.

When I went there on vacation, the local, fizzy, yellow lagers weren't bad. They weren't memorable by any means, but they hit the spot.

The whiskey I bought in Egypt was some of the worst alcohol I ever had.

I am still trying to decide on the worst beer. I have had some pretty bad homebrew if that counts. Dirty lines have made some bad pints, but I don't want to put that blame on the beer.

San Miguel from the Philippines. Never knew what alcohol content you were going to get. Every batch was different., We called it San Magoo

Was the beer bad tasting or just rough never knowing if 3-4 beers will fuck you like Dragon's Milk?

The beer was actually pretty good from what I remember. Just never knew how many you had to drink to get buzzed. I am sure they have figured out how to regulate the alc content by now. That was in the early 70's

San Magoo was nothing. Look up the recipe for Mojo. You could spot the guys drinking Mojo a mile away. Acting like idiots and puking their guts out. What a great time:)

Not quite sir. Legally a brewery is able to sell beer with a +/- of .3 percent of what is on the label. So if the beer says it's 6.5 percent alcohol it could legally be between 6.2 to 6.8. Then some places don't follow that and could get fined heavily if caught.

There's a whole lot of variables that go into factoring abv. Many breweries try their hardest at consistency, but consistency is the hardest thing to nail, especially if you're a smaller brewery.

I think he's talking overseas though.

You are right for any beer purchased in the US, although I doubt anything with a fruit addition is meeting that +/- of .3%. Agricultural ingredients are a lot harder to predict than grain that comes with lab tested, documentation. There's a reason wineries have a much larger room for error, +/- 1.5%.
