Oh for ****'s sake. Read it again. Maybe you didn't see the edit.

Read what? Your point is that any type of punch can give him a concussion...so can any or repetitive body checks.

Or does it suck when people post back to you like you do to them?

Everyone is in danger of that on the ice. All it takes is one asshole that wants to hit somebody when they aren't looking. Toews can't control that. But he CAN control whether or not he gets into a fight. So limit that risk of getting a concussion by not doing it. Don't willingly open yourself up for that to become a reality, especially when:

A. He never fights, he's not a "fighter"

B. He's worth waaaaay too much to the Hawks to be off the ice for any long amount of time, let alone be sidelined with another serious head injury for a stretch of the season because he decided to fight.

Because you're right, I agree, there's already enough risk just playing the game. Just how he plays. Why fucking add even more into it with that? Why play with more fire?

Ya know you reach a point where enough is enough. JT's point is pretty fucking high. He regularly gets mauled by the opposition he finally got sick of no show Joe's bullshit and did something about it. Good job JT. Also Thorton you cant even beat up a guy you outsize considerable, jesus you are terrible.

No... people are retards if they thought THAT was the spot.

The only "spots" Toews should be picking is whether he should go 5 hole or some other spot on net. Don't risk getting hurt doing something that has absolutely no value for the team. He's too important.

He definitely picked his spot, it was premeditated and planned out before pregame skate and probably planned when they left San Jose last week. It was something Toews felt he needed to do and if he comes out of the ordeal concussed, I still respect the man for standing up to the bully. if he were to never play another game because of this fight , I can get use to that too, just as I am used to not seeing Hull and the other great Hawks that don't play anymore.

I do not need Toews to think about me when he makes his decisions on the ice and I'm sure his teammates found value in it.

It will be okay boys....get over it!

Do you think it would be a wise idea to go up to the biggest guy in the bar and start a fight with him for no reason?

Thornton had tried to elbow him high just before he cross checked him. I have Zero problem with Toews sticking up for himself. None.

I don't think they showed it on TV. Hence why I said something else must have happened because Toews doesn't ever spaz out like that.

Yea Joe tried to throw an elbow at Toews just before they went to the corner. Which is why the cross check. Then once Joe when down like he was shot in the back, like the pussy he is, made JT even more pissed.

After all Thornton cost Toews half the year last season by a similar cheap shot. Last night Joe missed, but JT didnt.

Don't like JT fighting but at some point he has to stick up for himself. Good for him.

And as for picking spots that FIRED up the team. No question....

I +1'd your last comment because I agree 100%.

However the ensuing penalty kill fired up the team... had the Sharks scored once or twice the momentum would have shifted completely the other way. Luckily that point is moot since it didn't happen, but I have to play devil's advocate.

This team knows their PK is on fire. I don't think that scares them, rather motivates them. I don't want JT to get hurt, but at some point you have to say enough is enough.

He's the Captain. If he wants to make that decision he has that right. His team will back him up, and did.

Instead of JT lets talk about a dumb penalty last night. Demurs. He clearly punches Sharp square in the face, Sharp doesn't retaliate, Hawks score a huge PP goal, pretty much sealing the deal.

That's a dumb penalty.

JT Plays with fire each time he plays in front of the net and goes into the corners. Just watch the abuse to the head area he gets pretty often from those normal and repetitive plays he does each game.

They are always challenged by some as being soft and not willing to stick up for each other. They have been showing that in spades this season so far, and what JT did will galvanize this team even further. This bout could be the hardening of the glue for this team.

JT did what he felt he had to do. Period.

Now, could somebody get a mop, there's estrogen and Oprah magazines all over the floor.
