kinda funny how quickly the fan base turned on him
Well since him coming here, chemistry has been way off, the team looks completely disinterested, and the gel isn't there. So while I'm sure its much more complex than just Gasol, feel like he is a big contributing factor.

I just don't recall anyone saying any of this type of stuff about him last year

I honestly think it starts with Gasol.

It starts with the fact they are a bad shooting teams with a coach who is trying to install a jump shooting culture. The team does not fit the system. The team fit Thibs. You can't fire Thibs and keep all of his guy while bringing in a coach that runs a spread offense. It will not work.

how about this trade?

gasol and snell to the grizz for jeff green and a pick?

pau gets to go back to where it all started and play next to his brother. grizz also get snell to replace green...a cheaper and not as good option obviously. grizz have guys like barnes and allen that can start at the 3 though anyways. green is an expiring contract so his 9 mil will come off the books at the end of the year. bulls get out of the gasol and snell contracts and gain a pick

If only Jeff Green could shoot 3s...well

I'd do it

yeah his 3 point shooting has really dropped this year...but he is a career 34% shooter....the same as niko who everyone seems fine with shooting a bunch of 3's  difference is jeff doesn't shoot 5 of them a game because he knows better at least. it would certainly balance our roster out a lot more, give us a starting 3, and allow portis to get some consistent minutes

Well remember Niko came into the league known as a shooter. He shot over 40% from the Euro 3. Jeff Green has never had that rep. That's why the perspective is different. Now I guess you can argue based on Niko's 1.25 seasons here that he's no better than Jeff Green, but my logic tells me he should be better than Green even though he isn't showing thus.

Not really. I've been saying he needed to be traded since the off-season and I'm not the only one who shared that opinion.

hmmm those convos must have gone on while I was in Alaska over the summer then. I know during the season there certainly weren't many complaints regarding pau, if any

Pretty sure you knocked me and basically called me an idiot for suggesting we traded Gasol in the off-season. Almost positive, actually. I continued to bring up how he probably had the most value out of all our bigs, we were crowded up front and needed minutes for Bobby, and that he would most likely opt out and would be lost in free agency. I also brought up him being a liability on defense and needing more depth on the wing. It was always just common sense to me that Gasol needed to go. After we drafted Portis it was as obvious as ever.

Yeah I'm just saying Niko has shown in Europe that he's a shooter. So he has shown otherwise. Or maybe this is the otherwise.

Hey now, the Spanish league is considered the best international league! If the guys at my local YMCA are that level I am way better at basketball than I thought lol.

They should look into trading both Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose. I like what Gasol has done with the Bulls but it looks like he is going to walk this summer. Gasol should be easy to trade by the deadline but Rose would be much tougher if not impossible. I don't think there will be any GM's who want to absorb his contract for how bad he has looked. Unfortunately I think we will be stuck with him. In a Gasol trade I'd like to see them go after a good young point guard but that is going to be hard to find on contending team that Gasol would go to. More than likely they would get a first round draft pick and a expiring contract. Maybe you could then package some of your pics to move up in the draft and get a good quality point guard that would fit in Hoibergs offense. I would love to see a player like Isiah Thomas on the bulls but I don't see that one ever happening.

Right now I think that Rose needs to go to the bench. He is playing like a below average point guard and killing the starting lineup. I would put Brooks in his place. He pushes the ball more and can shoot the 3. I would also insert Noah and Mirotic in the starting lineup over Gasol and Gibson. Noah is terrific passer and can push the ball up the court. I think the starting lineup of Brooks, Butler, McD, Mirotc, Noah would be the best lineup you could put out there with the style Holberg wants to play. You still have Noah and Butler to anchor the defense and plenty of shooters space the floor. Let Gasol, Gibson, and Rose come off the bench play the old Thibs way and hopefully beat up on back ups.

Exactly. This isn't on Hoiberg. This is on Bulls management all of the way.
