This offseason? These are my first posts.

Why in God's name should the Cubs be trying to get rid if every good player and rebuild years down the road?

Have you watched the Cubs in September and the postseason the past few years? Doesn't seem like you have.

Preciado looks pretty interesting in an area of very big need in their farm system.

Do you read all posts, or some?
I am OK with the Cubs shaking things up. It is necessary.

I am OK with selling high on Yu, IF the return is actually worth it.

I am not in favor of saying "Well, we have a lot of talent, but failed in the postseason, so let's give everyone away and start over in several years."

Padres are going for it right now. They should not be the ones drawing the line on prospects involved. Let's see who it is. The tweet I linked said one was a 17 year old SS. One was Davies, who I may like more than most. Not sure on the others, but they're not Padres top prospects.

Cubs don't really have anyone that's going to get a team's top spec. Baez/Bryant would have a few years ago but Cubs held on too long. It is is what it is.

San Diego picked up the AL Cy Young winner and NL Cy Young runner up and gave up two major leaguers and two of top ten prospects, #3 and #7 (both to Tampa)

Have you tried calling Hoyer to ask him to explain himself?

If that indeed is the full deal.... It's a lot of hoping on young guys. Seems pretty light to me
It would have seemed light without Caratini. But he is expendable with Amaya coming.

My only real read is maybe some of these younger guys looked better over the past year.

Do the new prospects coming have a different hitting makeup than what we have drafted n the past few years

I mean most haven't played much if any minor league baseball so it's difficult to say. Preciado and Ismael Mena were both IFA's in the previous class. Owen Caissie was drafted in 2020. Yeison Santana is the only one who played minor league baseball

That's what we need to hope for.

Two of the four are SS prospects. We drafted a SS last year.

You can't have too many, and SS prospects often move off short, but we have a gold glover in his prime that we could extend, and I really don't need to see the team let him walk or give him away.

Hope Jed used some KY. He took it hard.
Maybe this will stave off BK for the Ricketts.

Preciado will be a 3B eventually. Mena looks like a legit CF. Caissie is a LFer probably. Santana is a legit SS though.
