Sounds like Joe has made his decision

- Hammel over Haren is the only change to the 25 (which means Denorfia is probably man out)
- Cubs will go Lester - Hendricks - Arrieta - "probably Hammel"
- Roster finalized tomorrow

Blackhawks are good at tanking towards the end of the regular season, then flipping their switch to God Mode for the playoffs. Cards, Giants, Blackhawks, Kings are built to do things like this. Cards are definitely a scary team to face.

This isn't hockey. The Cardinals are done. This happens all the time in MLB. St Louis peaked too early and as of late we've beaten their brains in. They want nothing to do with us right now -- believe it.

They are injured, out of gas, and about to run into a buzzsaw. Their time is up.

Maybe one day you'll finally get hair under your armpits.

Completely irrelevant to the discussion but thanks for sharing your idiotic thoughts regardless.

For real? Never? Have they never been good at the same time in all of their existences?

Well, I think the two wild card spots were only introduced recently:

"On November 17, 2011, MLB announced that it would be adding two wild card teams to the postseason. The two wild card teams in each league face each other in a one-game playoff. The winner of this game advances to meet the top seed in the Division Series. The revised playoff system began with the 2012 season." WIKIPEDIA

Previous to that, 1994-2011 there was only one per league.

Never faced the Cards.

I think I have that right.

Hammel could be lined up for game 4. Hendricks has figured it out. Hammel has issues getting past the 5th. No brainier.

If the Cubs are down 2-1 in the series... do you think they might noodle on throwing Lester out on short rest for Game 4? Depending how tomorrow goes of course.

Hopefully Madden will go with just 10 pitchers but most likely he will go with 11. Agree Denorfia could be the guy left out but it could be Jackson or Berry.

I mean... I'm not the biggest Dan Haren fan... but I'd rather him pitch than Hammels.
