Fuffle, Maiden, you guys are not banned from the chat, for the record.

How come we can't pull it up then? I always get this error message --> "[#CHAT-02] You do not have access to our chat room. "

I mentioned that a few games ago and agree. It's one of the reasons are D has looked so bad at times. While we didn't lose primary players we did lose some of the better defensive forwards in the league. Ladd, Madden, Frazer, Versteeg and even Buff are/were very defensive minded. Tonight we saw them clog the zone, be aggressive on the forcheck, and in general persue the puck, verses sitting back and allowing the Wings to bring it to them.

That alone with Hossa and Kane out, which increases the Hawks possession verses the other teams puck possession are the reason we have lost many of the games we have.

Amazing only one penalty called tonight on both sides. A way the game should be called. I thought as usual Detroit got away with some clear interference calls, but hey, that's what they do.

Ya Eddie did a "stop it right there" on Toews being interfered with while going after the puck.

He went on to mention that Detroit was and had been the best team in the league at getting away with interference for years.

Kinda funny that a team could have a reputation for that, could they actually practice at it?

Probably. My buddy the Wangs fan says the team prides itself on doing that -- just enough to keep the opponent from the puck, but not enough for a whistle...

Congrats to the Hawks on a great TEAM win! I was supposed to be at the game but wow was that fun to watch on TV too. Hope everyone who went enjoyed that 60-minute performance from the boys!

To whoever mentioned it above (RK?) - I agree, Soups had a great game. Crawford, Bickell, JT, Sharp... really set a tone out there for the team. Skille continued his trend of working hard every shift. I thought Sharp was relentless on the backcheck tonight.

Didn't catch up on the whole thread, but what's the deal with Cullimore? He was waived but he played?

No there is some glitch in it right now. I seen you go in last night then leave. Chat is screwed up. It happened to me wednesday night. The fix for me is to close the browser and bring it back up

I thought forwards were back checking at a much higher rate as well.

Forwards back checked and we were hitting. Every time we hit a lot we win games. It has been that way for the past 2-3 seasons.

Funny Q plays them less minutes they play better?

The ENTIRE TEAM played for 60 minutes. Back checking, clogging the zone, and being aggressive. It was NOT that Seabrook and Keith played better. And to top it off Seabrook was the 3rd star but it probably should have been Campbell.

Might have been his best game of the year. Q had a great game as for time management. Taking minutes from Keith and Seabrook and wow, they played better as a pair. Soup with 26 minutes TOI and holy crap two awesome passes one of which ended up in a goal.

This is how this team needs to play if they want to continue winning because the Wings did NOT play a poor game by any means.

I tend to agree with you RK just on the pass to Kopy alone is a star of the game but Seabs happens to wear a particular number that was honored tonight

IDK if it was previously mentioned if it was I apologize but the internet is being incredibly slow but I think getting guys like Pisani and Johnson in the line up helped tremendously tonight. This team has really missed those defensive forwards that we had on our 3rd and 4th lines last year. Bolland finally looked like he was getting under peoples skin and playing his game which is very important. Forwards were much better which in turn helped the D. Campbell was actually skating the puck into the zone tonight because he knew the forwards were finally playing defense.

I so far like Johnson, had some good plays out there.

They need to ingrain the tape of this game in their brains. Another tough one on Sunday night.

Hell! Yes!

He played another real solid game. It will piss me off to no end if he's down in Rockford tomorrow.

Great game all around. Probably the best game they've played yet as far as being in position and having good sticks. There was one sequence in the 2nd where Hammer and Cullimore both batted the puck out of danger.

Yeah but I thought he got waived? Did that not happen? Did they bring him right back?

That has been the problem so far. They play a game like last night and then they come out next game and flop. Today they have to have a good practice. Q has to really get home the fact that they have to play the same way tomorrow.

Yeah the Kings are damn good and the Hawks have already beat them twice so the Law of Averages says the Hawks will lose tomorrow. But, if they can play like they did last night then they can definitely win. Key is, like last night, reduce 2 and 7's minutes and focus on the forwards back checking which takes even more load off the D men.

Really I think it all depends on Quick. He made over 50 saves in Detoilette the other day,

LOL

One of two reasons. First it's only open during game time when a Mod is in there, or Second the Hockey Gods are blessing the rest of the board and randomly selecting you for exile.

Also true... didn't he stand on his head on the first time the Hawks played them (it was at the UC in late October) and they still won?

...nevermind, 25 saves on 28 shots.

The Kings are a lot like us. They play up and down. Losing the Vet presence of Blake for them was huge.

If the Hawks play like they did last night they'll beat most teams.

I forgot to mention I liked our lines last night. I liked Brouwer-Teows-Skille. They were all over the place giving the Wings Fits. I'd keep Stahlberg out of the line up.

Grimson, KINGS GDT!

Kane, Hossa and Stahlberg remain out tomorrow. PK could not finish practice, according to Jahns ran into Kitchen on the ice and left practice.

Hossa is close but who knows how close. Q said hopefully before Xmas which would be Nashville but I won't hold my breath.

Crawford will get the start.

Stahlberg clearly is concussed so when ever he passes the test, and honestly I'd rather keep our top line the way it was last night.

Yes he got waived, but getting waived doesn't mean you can't play. He can't be sent down until he clears waivers. And even at that, getting waived doesn't even mean you'll necessarily get sent down either. I remember about 10 or so years ago during Dave Manson's 2nd stint with the Hawks, he was waived along with another player, and he played the afternoon he was waived, eventually cleared, and never got sent down.
